Bottle, 9C. Clear amber with an inch of off-white head. High bead. Strong toffee aroma with some plums, bread, light spices. Sweet toffee, some berries, gingerbread. Bitterness is there, but doesn’t really match it. Like a big clean Irish red ale and not really my sort of thing.
Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is sweet malts, sticky toffee fudge, light alcohol and some woody hop notes. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet with a rich malty, sticky toffee apple, light boozy alcohol, hop bitter palate and a lingering sweet fudgy, alcohol bitter finish. Deep amber beer, holds a dense beige head.
Nice rich aroma - dark caramel, toasty malt, citrusy & piney malts.
Body is resiny, rich, full, rather sticky and delicious.
Stacks of big malty caramel, toast & biscuity flavours on the body almost too sweet until a smack of resiny, leafy, grassy, pine, citrus type hop comes in with a solid bitterness.

On tap at Hart’s Pub, pours a cloudy amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings lots of caramel upfront, a little cloying sweetness and bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of sweet caramel and bready malt. Not especially complex and a little too sweet, but still reasonably well-constructed. Decent stuff. 330ml bottle from greenslopes cellars Brisbane, biscuit aromas, toffee and caramel flavours, reminds me of freshly baked Anzac cookies, very easy to drink inspite of the 7.5 abv, delicious, drinker beware

Poured a hazy very dark amber colour with a one- to two-finger light tan head that slowly diminished to a collar that laced OK. Carbonation moderate and medium. Yeast sediments in bottle. Aroma of sweet caramels, a very slight hint of roasted malt, earthiness and subtle hops. Taste initially very sweet followed by a strong and slightly tart bitterness; alcohol well hidden. From bottle in tapered shaker. Pours cloudy amber with an aroma reminiscent of a Cooper’s with added hops. I thought I was comparing 3 amber ales tonight but apparently this is an American Strong Ale. Who knew? Nice lingering bitter palate masks some of the ABV. From a 33oml bottle on 23/6/2015. Pours a cloudy amber with a medium head, The nose features caramel, toffee and fruity hops. Taste wise, it begins with sweet caramel malt, followed by orange and lemon, with quite firm, bitter hops finishing things off. The body is quite full and the carbonation lively. Pours a dark amber with a fine off white head. Nose is really rich, sweet toffee, caramel, almost coffee, slight citrus freshness. Flavor is delightful caramel and toffee, brown sugar, background grapefruit. Finish is citrussy, more caramel. Medium to heavy body, slightly sticky. This is a really wonderful beer. Tap @ brewery. Dark amber with good lacing. Aromas of citrus and pine hops as well as caramel malt. Initial bitter hop flavours of citrus blossom and pine up front but only immediate bitterness which leads into a caramel and biscuit malt sweetness. A slightly bitter back palate but the sweet malts are the predominant flavour. I like this one.
