More dark, toasted malts, dark chocolate, earthy, charcoal, burnt toast, soft carbonation, full bodied. Decent Porter. Bottle from the brewery, Mornington. doriangrey (124) - Diamond Creek, AUSTRALIA - NOV 30, 2017
Rich, chocolate and liquorice. Toasted and malty. A bit like a baby imperial stout in taste StuffWine (185) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 23, 2017
Poured an impenetrable solid black with small brown head. Aroma is light molasses, dark toasted bread, and hints of sultanas (not raisin). Taste initially sweet malts, moving to dry toasted grains, then loooong final flavour of espresso with a dusting of mocha. Full bodied, lively carbonation keeps it interesting, and beautifully long finish. CurlyJoe (383) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 16, 2017
Very dark, tan head. Dark chocolate and coffee aroma, not much sweetness. Roasted malt flavour, once again not too much sweetness but there is a little to mellow it out. Bitter chocolate finish. Says moreish on the label and I have to agree! explosivedog (1808) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 14, 2017
On tap at the brewery. Pours red black. Coffee, toast, vanilla, blackcurrant, chocolate. Nice body. Good.

330mL bottle for $5.
Appearance: Dark brown / black. Pours a tan head which drops to a collar. Laces well.
Aroma: Roast malts, chocolate, coffee, a bit of booziness.
Taste: Sweet roast malts, burnt caramel, vanilla. Ends with balanced moderate bitterness. Hints of the 6% abv are welcome.
Palate: Low carbonation (good), average body.
Overall: Rich taste, pairs nicely with cheesecake. 6/3/8/3/16 Muggus69 (2807) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - SEP 24, 2016
330mL bottle from Booze Bud.
Near-black body, holds small dense beige head.
Not a hugely pungent nose - toasty, slightly burnt, licorice, nuts, some earthy undertones.
Full body, smooth, slightly slick texture, low carbonation is welcomed.
Flavour of roast nuts, burnt ends, char, dark chocolate, licorice, earthy, leafy hop sort of character. Moderate bitterness, smooth finish.

Thanks to the rep for the beer.
Pours dark cola color, settles black with some hints of ruby. quick fading light tan head, becoming a thin collar.
Nose is Nutty, vanilla, earth, and come grainy coffee notes. Solid nose.
Taste is coffee, some pine bitterness up front, vanilla, soft caramel, and touches of treacle. Medium bodied, more carbonation than I really want for this style. A little to prickly. Long lasting nutty finish.
Straightforward and very solid beer. ALLOVATE (3087) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - DEC 10, 2015
Ermahgerd! Why have I overlooked this one for this long. This was a surprise in the best sense.motelpogo (8031) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 8, 2015
Day 10 of my advent calendar.
At just on and into a snifter. Lustrous sheen to a smooth, tight and compact tannish crown. Black as midnight in the deep with darkest showing in the shallows. Huge nose oozing with dusty cocoa, roasted coffee beans and carob, scorched timber, rust and blood, and a little star anise. It starts sweet with mocha cola notes before a drawing bitter malt back-end showcasing all the character of thee aroma. Moderate carbonation fades as it heads towards the tonsils to be oily smooth in the finish. Big roasted malt nuances make it simple yet complex with a hand given of vanilla. The alcohol oddly evident aides instead of abets. A highly quaffable Porter. NIce!! (33cL, Boozebud)
