There are also note of dark fruits like dried plum what suggests notes of oxidation. Medium to high, roast bitternes is long, aggresive like should be in RIS, balanced by malty, chocolate body gives very good flavor. Beer is bitter, roasty at the beginning and sweet in aftertaste. Brown thin head and lacy, dark black body. Sweet, burnt aroma. Big bitter chocolate taste at the start, but bitterness moves to sweetness at the end. Luscious. Up there with the best of the big stouts. gafferpom (52) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 15, 2017
This is pure class. A truly magnificent IMPS that is silk personified on the palate. Rich dark chocolate, like a Black Forest gateaux. Hints of vanilla bean and black current. Highly recommended and fantastic take on this style of beer. Exquisite.

Chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and also aroma of roasted malts, poured a deep black with a cap light tan head, flavours characteristic of vanilla, along with chocolate and coffee, giving a lingering bitter aftertaste. danjs5 (360) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 9, 2017
Pours a pitch black with thin head in the glass. Pungent rasins and rum nose with similar flavours plus vanilla, molasses, straw, nuts, toffee and tar. Creamy mouthfeel with strong hit of alcohol at finish when served room temp. Some smokey ort oak notes which are a great winter warmer. Good hop bitterness served with dark fruits and syrupy molases malts throughout. Good balance. Great at 9.5%ABV. BrewWarden33 (2) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 27, 2017 does not count
In the bottle at slow beer Richmond 2017 release. Pours opaque black with a light brown head. Dark fruits aroma with light raisins and chocolate. Mouth feel is gentle, not syrupy but very decadent with very low carbonation. The winner is the taste strong vegimite and oak flavors dominate with a dark chocolate and meaty finish, lovely on a cold winter day, like today. Cheers
