Aromas of chocolate, roasted coffee, Kahlua, burnt toast, honey, sea salt and a hint of citrus. The roasted coffee is very strong in the mouth, together with nuts, toffee and lemon. The palate is luscious at the front and a little watery by the time it gets to your throat.

Dark black pour from the can, with nice creamy mocha head. The all important roasted barley is apparent in the aroma, along with dark chocolate, coffee beans, earthiness. Pours mid brown with medium head. Caramel bouquet. Malt sweetness nicely balanced by some hoppy bitterness and charcoal smokeyness. Sweet finish that leaves a bit of residue on the palate.

330ml can. Pours a dark brown with a rich, fluffy mocha colored head. Nose is coffee, brown sugar, fruit and nut chocolate, rum. Flavor is coffee, milk chocolate, brown sugar, molasses, plum, brandy. Medium to heavy body, surprisingly creamy and luscious for a 4.3% beer. The lactose is certainly doing it’s job here. Really lovely beer, complex and rich flavor with great mouthfeel and body. Clear deep dark reddish brown color, mainly towards black. Brown head of decent size, but it settles fast and leaves no lacing. Sweet, roasted scent, some milk chocolate and coffee as well. Coffee, milk, roasted, some green bell peppers, hints of ash taste. Coffee, milk, roasted, bitter aftertaste. Spiciness lingers on the tongue. Medium to smooth, lowish CO2 mouthfeel, that is still a bit fizzy. Medium bitterness to the dry and grainy side.
