Bottle (250ml). At Smokeless Joe. Poured a nice ruby with a biggish pink tinged lasting head. Aroma pretty much just natural smelling tart black currant with sugary maltiness and a hint of alcohol and spice - very nice, not like ribena. Flavour is cassis somewhat artificially sweetened, some very weak lambic tartness - a bit too sweet. Mouthfeel is acidic, juicy and sticky - has some body, but very little beer flavour. Refreshing but I was happy to let my wife drink the lion’s share - not my thing. JPDIPSO (6240) - Wauwatosa, USA - AUG 4, 2005
Huge pink head with a lightly hazed amber- ruby body. Tart malt mingles with the currant and mild fruity aromas. Light sweet flavors hit and are taken back by only a small amount of tartness. An unassuming lambic. A cross between a fruit beer and a lambic. sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 28, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 29, 2005 (Bottled) Nice, slightly hazy deep red color with a smallish but quite firm head. Very strong, sweetish but quite natural cassis aroma. Sweetish cassis flavor with no trace of lambic sourness. Light to medium-bodied palate with lemonadey carbonation. Not that bad, but truly a "girls’ beer". Hazy brown, nut brown, creamy head. Strong cassis aroma. Sweet, juice, sugary flavor, also some dry woody flavors (cassis grains). Quite artificial.
(Bottle 25 cl) Reddish blue beer with a small, bubbly head. Very fresh nose with lots of black currant, and the berries shine through all of this beer. The acidity from the berries adds to the lambic’s tartness making this a rather sour beer - althoough with some added sugar. 180999

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2006 Bottle. Sour and musty black currant aroma. Reddish -dark purple color with small head. Initial tartness followed by a sweet black currant flavor. Full bodied. Very nice - not as sweet as Lindemans but still more than traditional. bluevegie (3073) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 12, 2005
The aroma jumps straight out of the bottle even before you start pouring. Hazy dull red/brown body with slightly off-white tightly beaded head. Ribena like aroma. Blackberry. Taste is very good, medium body, pleasant mouthfeel, light sweetness and soft carbonation. lagermonkey (725) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - MAY 10, 2005
Pours a hazy reddish-copper with a huge ivory head, even with an extremely gentle pour. Very, very lacy. Here’s where I thought I had made a very big mistake. The aroma smells of rotting fruit. I mean, it smells bad. Hints of sour blackberry but lots of smelly rotting fruit in there.
Fortunately, it tastes much better than it smells. Sour lambic with some sweet/tart blackberry. Some serious sweetness in there but not cloyingly so. Sweet and sour are very nicely balanced. The tart fruitiness is most apparent in the finish and lightly puckering aftertaste. Not an everyday beer but it acquits itself nicely as an apertif or maybe an afterdinner drink.

A very sweet nose, like tart candy.pours like a blend of red wine port and beer in colour, with a big red tinged head.
A good tasting but very tame lambic Sweet and fruity with some bitterness and again that tough of tanginess is in there.
Too sweet to have more then one but the one I am having I am enjoying.

250 ml bottle, best before 01/06. Deep purple/ruby colour with a thin pink head. Bright sweet cassis aroma. A bit jammy. flavour is very sweet, fruity cassis, a touch of cinnamon and anise as well as a fairly tart finish. Fairly one-dimensional, but not bad.
