A very lively beer, that blew the top of when opened. The color is a hazy red amber with a light brown huge head. The aroma is surprisingly sour - very nice - with clear notes of black currant, but also lemon. The flavor is sweet from the black currant, but on a quite sour, very fresh background, other notes is of lemon, grapefruit, and hints of wood. oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - SEP 27, 2008
Bottled (BBE 2007), not sure how long this has been in my coldcellar. Deep rubyreddish colour with small off-white head. Aroma is lots of black currants and other dark berries with some mild sourness to it. Flavour is quite much the same with some slight artificial notes as well as also blueberries. Bottle. Dark chestnut color, medium off white head. Aroma of strawberry, blackberry, citrus. Taste is stingingly tart berries and fruit. omhper (25546) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - OCT 20, 2002
Bottled. Clear red. Winegum aroma. Very sweet, big black currant sorbet flavour. Tasty, at least if judged as an alco-pop. madmitch76 (25344) - , Essex, ENGLAND - OCT 16, 2010

Early amateur rating warning! Slight watery fruit beer, not as much fruit flavour as I would like. Dusty undertone.
(Bottle 25 cl) Reddish blue beer with a small, bubbly head. Very fresh nose with lots of black currant, and the berries shine through all of this beer. The acidity from the berries adds to the lambic’s tartness making this a rather sour beer - althoough with some added sugar. 180999 fiulijn (21022) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 18, 2003
Red color; pink head. Cassis candies aroma. Dryer, more sour, less sweet (therefore less cloying) than the Lindemans'. Oakes (18525) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 22, 2000
Is it just me or are Mort Subite's fruit beers underrated. They're not Girardin, but I think with the moderately assertive tartness they make a much better introduction to lambic than certain more popular, but much sweeter examples. TBone (18006) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 27, 2005

Hazy brown, nut brown, creamy head. Strong cassis aroma. Sweet, juice, sugary flavor, also some dry woody flavors (cassis grains). Quite artificial.
Blood red and purple pour. Nose is very strong berry. Taste is muted berry and crisp sour apple. (Bottle aged 12-15 years)
