Clean golden beer with a nice head. Medium sour dry taste. Very nice old Gueuze. One of the better mass market stuff

Heavy gusher ( glasses ready! ), resulting in a big head but soft, flat even, mouthfeel and taste. Aroma funky but maybe leaning a bit too much towards "rotten". Taste otherwise sour and sweet apple, funky, with lingering sour aftertaste. Compared to most other geuzes this one is sweeter and more astringent although its taste and aroma is milder, less distinctive.

From tap at A La Mort Subite. Aroma of stables, sweet apples, toast, sour fruits. Poured clear yellow with a quickly fading head. Taste has a little sourness, but not that hard. Rather sweet, ripe fruits. Rated this probably a bit higher due to the experience at the bar (and the price, for that money it had to be good ;) ) Will come back to this later probably.

0.375 l bottle from Belgiuminabox.com at 7% abv, bottled in May 2009, acquired just a few days ago. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sourish-fruity, moderately funky aroma of rotten lemon, vinegar, some rhubarb and quite a bit of barnyard. Rather sour, quite fruity, slightly funky taste of old lemon, glue, vinegar, barnyard and hints of yoghurt, followed by a medium long, rather tart, slightly dry finish. Medium body, rather astringent and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not a very pleasant example of this style, quite off, difficult to drink. Reminds me a bit of Timmermans Geuze and thats not a compliment. Very disappointing with regard to the score.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2016 Bottle: Pours a clear golden colour with a medium sized frothy white head. Tart fruit aroma, apples and yeasty sourness. Moderately sour, some sweetness and tart fruit flavours. Soft carbonation with a light dry finish but lacks depth of flavour and lambic character.
