Nice to try one of these, something that I haven’t done before this. 6% impy? Nah. But let’s see what it’s all about. Dark brown/black body with an ENORMOUS off white head. Slightly smokey aroma of... Eh. Lentils or chickpeas. Strange. Fava beans, coffee and chocolate in the soft, peany malty taste. Lovely, pillowy mouthfeel, but... strange. Damn strange.

@ Havregatan. Flaska från Systembolaget (20:-). Mörkbrun/svart med litet vitt skum. Kaffe i doften och smaken. Även salmiak och lite choklad. I mitt tycke, alldeles för tunn och mesig för en imperial stout.

Thanks, Viktor! Black pour with a big tan head. Roasted malt, acidic coffee, and some chocolate. Certainly watery, some toast, dark fruit, soy sauce, and licorice. The flavor is a bit watery and bland. Coffee, lots of roast, dark chocolate, and some soy sauce. Light bitterness, a hint of fruit, and ash.

Bottle from Systembolaget, e-order in January 2013. Almost black with a very large, tan head. Aroma and taste of coffee, light roasted malt and something that reminded of chili. Light mouth feel with something sour in the taste. Drinkable but far from a great one.

Aroma: Smelling of burnt toast and cold coffee, soy sauce and darkness.
Appearance: A blackish brown ale, a tan head, good lacing and good curtains.
Taste: The taste starts with dark rye bread, cold coffee, some dates and fermented blackberries, soy sauce.
Palate: Little carbonation, a soft and fresh texture, but a very dry finish.
Overall: A nice burned dry stout - but no empire here!
Note: On-tap at De Klomp Reviewed 2012-05-07.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2013 Dark brown, fizzy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, hints of chocolate perhaps and a little cooked veggies. There is also some sort of metallic, sour notes but they disappear after a while. Taste is roasted, some coffee, medium sweet and bitter with some chemical notes in the finish. Medium carbonation, thin body. Unlike the brewery’s IPA, this beer is actually drinkable, but too many off-flavours and a watery mouthfeel means I can not recommend it.

Bottle. Almost black with a large dark beige head leaving lacing. Aroma: roasted, sour, kaffesump, fruity, milk chocolate. Taste: kaffesump, ashtray, soy sauce, milk chocolate and cocoa. Medium bodied. Man, I didn’t like this at all...

330 ml bottle. Aroma heavy with fresh, green chili, reminding of AB:08. Some darker notes in the nose aswell. Tastes of chili, without the spice heat thou, Other impressions are dank and dark.
