COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a huuuuge beer. Brewed for Urge Gastropub with all NZ Nelson, Big Mother is a worthy adversary to its Imperial counterparts: “The beer pours a slow-burning ember hue, exhibiting great clarity and a bouquet that, with its papaya, mango, and passion fruit notes, is like sticking one’s nose in a gift basket full of tropical fruit. The real treat comes on the first sip. Pronounced grapefruit notes hit first, giving way to a semisweet roundness, followed by a finish with savory hints of deeply brûléed sugar.” -Brandon Hernández, San Diego Reader Magazine

650 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium fluffy off-white head that has great retention. The aroma is somewhat mild with oranges, tangerines, bubble gum and caramel. The flavor is vibrant tropical fruits with a big pineapple presence, add in some tangy tangerine, bitter grapefruit and not-to-sweet caramel. The palate is full and viscous with lively carbonation. Finishes long and dry. Overall: First rate DIPA.

Wow, surprised to see this as a 98th percentile beer. Al; about the bitterness and malt, really not the type of imperial IPA I enjoy. Earthy spicy hops and malt, some grapefruit peel, just not terribly exciting for me.

Fruit salad and sawdust, with some yeast and caramel aroma. Bitter flavor with alcohol, apple and hope green. A bit tongue-numbing. Clear yellow leaning toward amber, modest white head. Alcoholic finish.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop aroma. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation and soft alcohol bite at the finish. Very good brew.

Deep amber does have some tropical fruit flavors but more floral on the nose leading into a big hop flavor and moderately bitter finish.

Bomber poured a clear tarnished gold with a small lasting white head. Aromas of straw, blueberry, floral notes, grapefruit and a hint of pineapple. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors 8f straw, blueberry, grapefruit and light floral notes with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

I really didn’t get all the tropical fruit flavors that they’re claiming in this beer. It mostly just tasted like a very strong Ipa and was just okay

Great aroma of grapefruit and passion fruit. Very much passion fruit driven. Hops punch you at beginning and throughout. Long evolving finish with a little too harsh ending. Great for super hoppy beer drinkers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Oily hop bitterness, some citrus and marmalade, and a little malty sweetness. A touch boozy, but not overly so given the ABV. Good stuff.

On tap at whole foods boise. Pours out golden topped with a white head. Nose is nice dank hops some extra ripe topical fruits and a sweet malt. Taste is more of the nice hops and a rich malt back bone.

Bomber from Casa De Oro. Very dank dry nose. Huge bitter hoppiness up front. Quite dank. A touch of a metallic twang to it. Moderate tropical notes hiding under the massive skunked hoppiness. Big brew with a good flavor profile.
