Bottle. Clear and dark brown color. Pleasant enough dunkel style beer, light body. Fairly ordinary but drinkable. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 6, 2011
A: the pour is dark brown in color with a finger of off-white head.
S: Starts off with a mild aroma of roasted malts. This is followed by hints of chocolate and a light coffee note. There are some hints of dark fruits, specifically raisins, along with a mild toffee sweetness and some toasted bread.
T: Coffee grounds and roasted malts are the first flavors I pick up. Those are followed by toffee and toasted bread, which provide a nice, subtle sweetness. There is jus a light bitterness and earthy hop flavor.
M: Medium bodied with a medium level of carbonation.
O: You don’t often see a Dunkel as part of a US brewery’s regular line-up, let alone a well done one. Solid beer. Ratman197 (15208) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 25, 2010
