This DIPA is a bad ass. Straight up. Its hopiness isnt just limited to the floral nose or lingering bitterness but a full hop flavor all the way through your palate. We bitter with a Super Alpha, and follow it up with a few flavoring additions throughout the boil. A massive dry hop of Simcoe and Amarillo create a huge aroma profile that really comes through in a big way.

Bottled. Pours slightly hazy light gold color with a thick sticky head. Nice grassy aroma with notes of fresh cut grass and orange citrus. Straightforward DIPA flavor of lemon, orange and grapefruit citrus with the malt base subdued so as to keep the profile light and crisp. I prefer this approach to a good DIPA. bitterness is medium strength and fairly well balanced. Good carbonation with a refreshing palate. Very tasty. I look forward to trying more of M.E.s brews

Pours two fingers of head on a clear straw body. Aroma is bright mango and pineapple, some pine in the background too. Taste is super pine bitter with some hits of tropical fruit sweetness. Texture is thicker. Enjoyable.

On tap at Mother Earth, pours a clear bright golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out ample piney hops upfront, some hop resins, and light caramel bready malt. Flavour is bold, with lots of resinous hops, some pine and sticky caramel malt. The balance is a bit rough, with the malt and hops not perfectly melding. But it works well enough. Good.

On tap at APEX. Pours a clear orange color with a medium white head. A big fruity resin nose. Fresh hops, resinous tropical sweet dominant hops, some toasted malts. Quite clean. Lovely. Big beer.

On tap at mother earth brewing Nampa. Pours out a crisp golden topped with a white head. Nose is great hop hit nice mix of fruit and malts. Taste is more of the nice citrus hops and a well balanced malt bill.

October 3rd, 2016 - Ensconced up in a corner of Escondido, Mother Earth has joined in the hoppy fanfare with its cousins just a little way to the south, serving up hoppy delights like this one, the Hop Diggity. Soupy and the color of a homemade cider, it looks like the product of agriculture wrung out at harvest season, with a nose full of dry straw, grass, hay and a touch of orange peel. The flavor is more boldly hoppy, but not dank or weedy. The grass notes hit the flavor too, inflating in the mid-flavor with a huge grassy finish, and just a little pineapple for sweetness.

Can. Pours gold with a white head. Fruity citric hop base, mild moderate bitterness, very low sweetness, a bit of pine, and a nice crisp hoppy finish. Not nearly as boozy as many IIPAs.

Latest instalment in the ever-diminishing Christmas selection crate series, courtesy of Cousin Matt. Clearly not entirely clear but diaphanous orange with specks of unfiltered particulate scoring an instant bonus in my book. Heady overripe tropical fruit aroma with melon, dragon fruit and blackcurrant over something cheesier and more elemental with sappy pine, curry leaf, green stems and Triple Sec. Heady and perfumed with bags of honeyed orange liqueur sweetness overpowered by swaying canopies of tropical fruit, pineapples amongst them. Proper slightly biscuit-scented pale IPA malt letting the resins sing and waft- not all sickening Crystal. Blackcurrant, Jelly Tots, too much cordial and Fruit Salad chews. Keeps on giving with flowers, Cointreau, Murray Mints and menthol. Fragrant. But not for pussies. Cali IPA as it should be.

Tap at Rose and Crown in Palo Alto. Pours a moderately hazy orange with full, retained white head of small bubbles. Overt citrus and slight pine come off of the nose, with an orange peel aroma on the latter half. Taste is mixture of dank resins and citrus, orange. Marries well with sustained cracker in the back to provide sturdy backbone. Beautiful beer, with my two favorite hops blending perfectly yet again.
