On tap at Mother Earth, pours a clear dark copper amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a rather English character on the malts, with bready malt and sticky toffee pudding. Flavour is bold and balanced, with notes of sticky toffee, some dark dried fruits and English bready malt. Sticky palate, without being too sweet. Grunt fill from Albertsons. Dark brown, let’s some light in, spare head. Faint roast grain aroma, nutty, sweet. Taste is much fuller, toasty, chocolate, nuts, brown sugar. Mild bitterness. Pours dark brown with a smooth head. Aroma of roasty malts, honey, hints of syrup and caramel. Taste is smooth, malty and caramely with some roastiness, honey and syrup. Finish is smooth, sweetish and slightly syrupy. Okay.

Tap at the brewery. Pours clear brown with a medium, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is toast and light coffee malt, dates and figs with light earthy hops. Flavor is faint agave, toast malt, light earthy hops and bitterness, dates and figs, light peppery Tequila with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. On tap at Mother Earth on Main St. in Vista. Decent dark brown pour with a khaki head that leaves thin lacing. Aroma is sweet malt, roasty, caramel. Kind of getting into stout territory with the roastiness and dark malts. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter, nutty, with some coffee. chocolate, and toast. Full body, creamy texture, average carb., and sweet finish. I didn’t taste any difference from the use of agave, overall a smooth drinking experience.
