COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Constituting a beginning; giving origin to something derived or developed; original." Need we say more? True to its Imperial roots! This brew clocks in at 9% ABV, and over 100 IBUs! It is made with four varieties of grains resulting in a bold dark amber color and four varieties of hops, creating a subtle citrus aroma, and bitter, hoppy finish. Winner of a gold medal at the 2009 Santa Cruz National Organic Challenge, this recipe surely will not disappoint.

A sweet aroma. The first flavor of each sip is just a bit weird, but the beer starts to grow on you. A string bitter hop back this up in a tasty way.

On tap at the brewery pours out a copper topped with a sand head. Nose is mango caramel malts citrus some dank hop notes. Taste is more of the nice hop combo with a sweet caramel malt.

Sampled at Nampa brewery at RBSG stop. Pours copper with an off-white head. Nose of sweet caramel malts, citrus and pine. Earthiness too. Flavor is powerful citrus hops, and the finish is dank and biter. Good stuff.

Draft at Mother Earth during RBSG. Pours a dark orange color with a thin finger of white head. Big hops aroma, citrus and pine resin. Deep hop flavors are sweet at times and bring a big bitterness. Lots of dank piney hops and some citrus. No bells and/or whistles here... all hop flavor I2PA.

Draft - Caramel backbone and sticky hops. Clear gold with a decent white head. Nice hoppy oily notes and weedy notes. Easy for the ABV.

Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours bright copper with an off-white head. Aroma is citrus hoppy and sweet caramel. Med + body. Flavor is very hoppy, citrus and earth mostly, and the malt is clearly present. Finishes not too dry, but with bitterness, a hop burn, and trending my thoughts towards dank.

Bottle from Cap Tap. Pours orange amber with a nice beige head and a citrus aroma. There is a full-bodied caramel malt flavor with a very bitter finish that stays on the palate.
