It pours a cloudy, murky brown with a tan head. It has a sweet malt aroma with notes of caramel, dried fruit and brandy. It has an initial taste that is sweet, then turns a bit boozy with a full mouth feel. The alcohol flavor and malt with hints of cherry coming on as the flavor lingers. There is bitter after taste with warmth from the alcohol. magsinva (1250) - Virginia, USA - DEC 22, 2016
Bottle from App Vintner - Pours dark brown, tan head. I get the raisin and fig, reminds me of fruit cake, in a good way. Nice! DiarmaidBHK (4891) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 21, 2016
Botttle from Appalachian vintner. Pours dark, dark brown with a massive khaki head. Leaves a shitload of lacing. Lots of dark fruit on the nose. Smooth and fragrant on the tongue. Hides it’s booze well. Nice! Iphonephan (6985) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - NOV 26, 2015
From a 22 oz bottle shared on Thanksgiving in the OB. Pours a cloudy brown with an off white head. Aroma of stone fruits. Flavors of figs and caramel. Yum. hman43 (1586) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - NOV 21, 2015
It pours a cloudy, murky brown with a tanish head that is full. It has a sweet malt base with aromas of caramel, raisins, figs, hints of apple, and bready aromas. It has an initial taste that is sweet, then turns to a combination of sour and hoppy. The apple with alcohol favors and caramel malt with hints of cherry tobacco and highlighter wtih the fig, raisins and floral hops coming on as the flavor lingers. As it warms a bit there is also a vinous flavoring at the end as well. It has a moderately heavy fell to it. There is a sharply bitter after taste with alcohol warming that is slightly on the hot side.

This poured a red color with a beige head. Aroma was of dark fruits, caramel and spirit. Flavor was sweet and candy like, but dry on the mouth, not much of anything I want to drink again. Art (3217) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 14, 2015
This stuff was surprisingly amazing. Pours a clear reddish brown. No head. Aromas of dark fruits and apple brandy sweetness. Caramel in there as well. Almost like a candy apple. Beer tasted sweet but not overpowering. Slightly boozy but tolerable. bierenjoyer1 (103) - Illinois, USA - JAN 23, 2015
750ml bottle from Peabody’s, Boone, NC. Scents of fruit, fig and raisin plus the Belgian candy sweetness along the side notes of brandy from barrel aging. Pours dark brownish, purple with a medium brown foam that stays for more than a while. Awesome flavor of Belgian dubbel along the fruits used along a burn of brandy aging and a bit sweetness. The palate finishes clean and leaves you wanting more. Overall this is a great beer and supposedly Mother Earth is not producing anymore at least at the current time. I will getting this beer again. italianjohn (3130) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 27, 2014
