COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You’re in for a helluva burly bite with this one. Mother’s India Pale Ale is aggressively hopped in both the wort kettle and aging vessel for a sharp, clean bitterness and fragrant citrus hop flavors. We’ve instilled a mellow malt character as the backbone to balance the elevated alcohol and hop levels IPA lovers crave. Whether you’re an IPA loyalist or just sampling, you’ve found yourself a great beer. So spend some quality time with Mother’s Lil’ Helper.

Pours a cloudy burnt gold color. Generous white head with nice lacing. Aroma is pine, juniper, grapefruit, with some malty caramel notes. Delicious floral flavor balanced with a nice malt backbone. Full bodied strong IPA.

Bottle from Bigtreebrewing. Hazy deep golden color with a smallish bone white head. Toffee, earthy , mineral and a hint metallic on the nose. Bitter butterscotch and earthy hop flavor. Medium body moderate to high carbonation. Decent enough IPA but not horribly exciting.

Bottle courtesy of Doran. Thanks. Pours a clear copper with a dingy white head. Good lacing. /Nose of citrus hops. Medium body. Flavor is a good balance of citrus hops and malts. Dry bitter finish. Good.

Less of an IPA than an APA. More malt flavor and grassiness than I usually want from an IPA. Not much in the way of hop bite or citrus flavor. But if this was listed as an APA, it would be pretty outstanding.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2014 Had this one on draft, going on memory. I liked it because for all the IPA’s that try to overwhelm you with hops, this one is just refreshing and well made. I didn’t find it bitter at all. I’m a hop head but appreciated how this one is made. I could drink a bunch of these.

Light copper with a small white head. The aroma is that of grapefruit, pine, and caramel malt. The flavor is similar. Pretty easy drinking and has a fairly balanced finish. Pretty decent.

Grapefruit pronounced throughout. Amber-gold with full white head. Overt grapefruit and cracker backing. Moderate high bitterness.

Pours golden with a thin white lacing head. Grapefruit nose with a clean start in the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

EyeAmBaldman (461) - Illinois, USA - SEP 9, 2014
Pours a light amber with a thin off white head. Aroma has an alcohol sweetness to it. Good carbonation on the tongue, at first, then it’s gone. Taste is more like a Scottish ale, or an old ale to me rather than an IPA. The finish disappears so quickly it’s almost non-existent.

I love IPAs but some can leave a really strong after-taste. This beer smells good, tastes good but doesn't stick around longer than invited. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
