Bottle:   Brown in color, thin sudsy khaki head, little lacing.   Soft sweet roasted malt nose, a little chocolate, cinnamon, and nutmeg.   Similar tongue, sweet with muted nutmeg and cinnamon.   Well, somewhat bright.   Sweet roastiness accompanies.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Spicy finish, sweet roastiness, chocolate, cinnamon and nutmeg.   Pretty tasty spiced Porter.   Thanks Keir! dfinney23 (3424) - Houston, Texas, USA - JAN 5, 2016
So much going on here it’s like they forgot the pumpkin, though maybe that’s the source of the smooth earthiness. Chocolate, vanilla, spices, char, light bitterness. Yum. swanmann (778) - Nompton, Oklahoma, USA - DEC 17, 2014
Bottle: Clear, dark chocolate brown with no initial foam to speak of, oily appearance. Aromas of squash and milk chocolate, a little booze, perhaps clove, cinnamon. In the flavor, I must say it’s remarkably balanced, even working with such bold flavors. Rum and vegetal notes appear up front, with dark chocolate quickly emerging. I don’t really detect a lot of spice. The mouth feel is full, not thick. It finishes sweet and a bit powdery. Man, incredible. I’m taken with the incredible balance of flavors presented without a cloying, overbearing palate. Well done. gregwilsonstl (2661) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 13, 2014
Really Chocolatey. Pumpkin at the end. Can?t place the rum. Slight vanilla. This works well. Thanks tim. thome50 (1295) - Morro Bay via Orange County, California, USA - DEC 8, 2014
Bottle thanks to phaleslu! Pours a medium brown with small tan head. Aroma is fall spiced candle with some chocolate. Taste is cinnamon, all spice, roasted coffee beans and some dark chocolate. I don’t get much of the squash but then again, do I ever with pumpkin/vegetable beer? Solid BA fall beer.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2014 Draft pour at FOBAB. Pours a dark, basically opaque brown with a small beige head, creamy, that settles into a small ring. Excellent balance in this one between the pumpkin pie (allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar), porter (roasted and toasted malts, chocolate), and barrel notes (rum, charred oak). Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, spicy, toasty, smooth mouthfeel. I’d have liked it to pop just a little more, but they really got the balance right here. Very dark pour, small dark brown head, and sticky, dark lacing. Pumpkin, chocolate, allspice, and pie crust aroma. The beer has great flavors. It's not overpowering. Really nice notes of real pumpkin, a touch of spice, bakers chocolate, and a bread-like finish. Like a chocolate-pumpkin scone. A well brewed and very fun seasonal from Mother's

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a large brown creamy head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is spiced rum, cocoa, allspice, nutmeg. Flavor is medium sweet, spices, cocoa, ash. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, a bit of astringency. Pretty over the top on the spices, but not bad. jandd1983 (4604) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - APR 20, 2014
It poured a dark brown color with a light tan head. The aroma was lots of chocolate, pumpkin, some cinnamon and a hint of vanilla. The taste was similar with a big roasted note in the backbone. There was a little mild bitterness. Very, very nice.
