COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Three Blind Mice is inspired by our favorite qualities from English brown ales, German altbiers, and Irish reds. Mother’s trio of beer connoisseurs sipped away many a night, working to find this ideal combination. Mother’s beautiful brown beer is medium-bodied with caramel, toffee, and subtle chocolate malt flavors—all balanced by moderate hop notes and a clean, dry finish. Three Blind Mice combines components of several malty beers for the unique brown beer experience you’ve been missing. After lots of research to find the perfect styles for our base, the clear winners were the lighter body and caramel characters of Irish red ales, the soft chocolate and toffee flavors from English brown ales, and the hop component and balance of German altbiers. We used traditional elements from each beer style and added our own touch for one incredible brown beer.

Clear dark amber brown pour. Solid beige head with good retention. Decent lace. Aroma was a letdown. A little roast and a lot of grain. Taste makes up for it a bit. Nutty and roasty with little toffee hits. Had to really look for it, though. Medium bodied and easy drinking. Overall not too shabby.

12 oz bottle. Pours a reddish-brown with a lot of off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is malty with some yeast. No bitterness. Great roasted malt flavor, with hints of dark chocolate and slight hoppiness at the finish. Some lingering smoke. Light mouthfeel and a moderate amount of carbonation. This is a great beer.

Tasted on tap at the 2016 Tanglefoot Fest, it poured a brown colour with weak off-white foam. Malty and a little toasty, caramelly, not much else. Vague hoppy balance, nothing special in this nor the yeast department. Definitely drinkable, not deeply flawed per se, but lacks the body, fruitiness, complexity of a good brown ale. Forgettable.

Bottle pour. Slightly hazy brown pour with a small head. Fairly straightforward nose. Baked apple. Hershey’s chocolate syrup. A bit of leather. Flavor has some light dry toasted nut. A bit earthy. Sweet chocolate and caramel. Medium body, strong carb. Decent enough brown ale.

12oz bottle, courtesy of gregwilsonstl, pours with a deep amber colored body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up a bit of nuttiness and then a mineral sensation heading quickly into sweet malts and a dash of chocolate malts. The taste quickly attains a pleasing roastiness with dark roasted malts, roasty earthy tobacco like malts and then a thin burnt malt note. To midway the sweeter malts and chocolate make a move forward adding a nice counter to the roastiness. This comes together nicely. Fun brown.

Pours brown with a good sized beige soapy head. The aroma has toasty malt, bread, mild spice and dry toffee. It has a medium crisp body with a lot of carbonation, but not intrusively so. The taste starts with dry toasty malt, some metallic notes, minerals and mild hops. The finish has more earthy hops and more mineral heavy. Very drinkable, but missing a lot of what I dig in a brown ale.

Amber brown. Dark but near clear. Malty nuttiness. Toffee. Dry. Kinda unique for a brown....a bit hoppier than most browns.

Received in trade from gregwilsonstl, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a dark copper almost brown color with a huge frothy beige head that persists forever. Big caramel and toasted malt with a hint of chocolate and a touch of earthy hop to counter. The flavor adds some dark dried fruits as well. Pretty good brown ale.

Bottle at home deep brown pour. Nose is caramel and some malt and nuts. Tastes of caramel, chocolate, peanut skin, malt, cola, some earthy bitterness. Easy drinking and pleasant. Straight up decent brown ale.
