Winter Grind is a fantastic coffee stout, black with a minimal tan head, with a strong coffee flavor that brings out sweet chocolately notes in the beer. While immensely flavorful, the beer is also fairly light on the palate, with low carbonation and a creamy texture. The taste of the coffee lingers after it’s gone. 2mu2ku (22) - - FEB 4, 2013
Favorite coffee stout, equal Bly to Great Divide Cappuccino Stout. I’m a big stout drinker and like a full bodied stout, which this delivers. My wife and several friends, who are not big stout fans, all thought this was the best stout of 2012. Can’t recommend strong enough. If you’re looking for something new from a small brewer, this is the new challenger on the block for Founders, Bells... Cuff_Links (40) - - DEC 31, 2012
This is all coffee. If you love coffee in your beer, as I do, then this is a beer for you. Thanks to Pete for bringing me some beers over the holidays. 6% abv.
It is a stout, not one with a heavy body, and then all coffee: from aroma, to flavor, to finish. Not sweet and not bitter or acidic. Drinks like a fresh pot of (really good gourmet) coffee smells. A winter winner. JackLewis (1) - - DEC 11, 2013 does not count
I am a Guinness fan, AND a huge coffee drinker.
This is a great brew, in my opinion, and I will most certainly get it again.
This I drank at refrigerator temp, and slowly of course. This is not for chuging. If interested in that, there are probably other websites for chuggers.
I appreciate and savor this, and the addition of Mudhouse cold-brewed expresso blend is really "sensed" and not beating you accross the face or over-powering.

Looks like black coffee. Sweet malts with bitter espresso taste. My favorite coffee stout so far. The best of both world’s!!

Bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of super fresh roasted coffee beans, roasted nuts (peanut butter), and vanilla. But wow, that aroma is fresh! Probably the best aroma of any coffee beer I’ve had to date (or at least tied). Flavor is quite similar, lots of roasted coffee that finishes with more charred roasted coffee notes. Plenty of roasted nuts, espresso, chocolate, and vanilla as well. Delicious coffee beer and it’s really fresh too. Wow, you just can’t get much better than this! The aroma is the best part, but the flavor is awesome too. What a great beer from such a sleeper brewery!

This beer smells like a fresh pot of strong coffee is a-brewin’. Very nice black color with a frothy, tan head. When the beer hits your lips, it makes you wonder exactly how they got such a strong, non-bitter flavor out of the coffee, for it is a simply delicious fusion of coffee and stout. It is lightly bitter, but it isn’t a heavily bitter coffee stout, which is more common than it should be. It has a surprisingly thinner body than you would expect from both the flavor and taste, but it isn’t a bad thing. It runs across the tongue slickly with a soft carbonation. It has a long finish with the coffee sticking around on your tongue quite nicely. p0rkch0p (117) - Missouri, USA - JAN 9, 2016
Pour is black, little froth on top. Taste is dark, rich, gritty and coffee. Tastes blend nicely. Could drink this all hours of the day.

Ahh Mothers......you knew I like coffee so that’s what you gave me. Don’t look for subtlety here; one of the most COFFEE forward beers I’ve had and I like it. ads135 (4607) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAR 29, 2015
A very nice, very potent coffee stout. The coffee adds some sharpness and acidity to this very rich, dark beer. Robust chocolatey sweetness finishes it off.
