Dark brown black opaque with very little head. Slightly malty nose with hints of coffee. Taste is slightly coffeeish. Creamy with dark chocolate notes. Light body. Finishes slightly bitter in a good way.

Where Purchased: 347ml bottle from the brewery Consumed: from a pilsner glass Aroma: Smells malty and sweet. Appearance : medium to dark brown with thin head that disappears immediately. Next to no lacing. Taste: Malty and sweet. The hops are kept in check by all the maltyness. I would say the IBU to be somewhere around 10. Palate : medium to heavy body. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Low carbonation. Overall: Flavorful, but not offensive. Heavy, but not too heavy. I was glad to try and would buy again. MB. The Beer "Bear"on.

Bottle… Pours black with a small, creamy, lightly tanned head. The roasty nose features chocolate crème, vanilla and toasted pistachios. Light-bodied and thin with jazzy carbonation. The flavor features roasty espresso, but is otherwise watery and diluted. There’s a touch of cardboard in the short, crisp finish.

superspak (5880) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - APR 30, 2015
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 11/19/2014. Pours nearly opaque dark brown color with a 1 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, caramel, honey, toast, dark bread, light coffee/smoke, light herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, caramel, honey, toast, dark bread, light coffee/smoke, light herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, dark bread, light coffee/smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for as good big. Good robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a good roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly bready/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a nice robust porter style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Aroma is sublet roastiness. Looks fine dark. Taste is light. Metallic like a porter but pretty light and boring. Palate is watery. Hops are ok. Overall pretty average. Nothing special. Simple.

Bottle at home. Pours a dark brown with a medium head. Aroma is roast and some chocolate. Flavor is very roasty with some chocolate. Also a good bit of smokiness. Medium bodied. Nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle. Brown with small head. Below average porter with some honey sweetness that doesn’t really fit. Thin body. Definitely not "well balanced".

Pours a dark brown with a tan foam head. Has a light aroma of roasted malts. Flavor is sweet roasted malts. A bit too light in body and flavor, but still enjoyable.

A borderline pour-down-the-sink porter. No particular aroma that could be associated with a porter. The taste was tingly sharp on the tongue and there was an unpleasant thinness to the body. Maybe I got a bottle that was all honey and nothing else, but this one--purchased at the brew pub--was nasty.

Mild taste, smooth, semi sweet, clean finish, kinda dark for a porter, but still not heavy, matly ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
