Motor City Pale Ale has a full malty body that is balanced by a subtle citrus like tartness. This was the first beer made here at our brewery and is a classic example of a true American style Pale.

Draft sample. Poured clear amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate citrus hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable brew.

Pale yellow. Full white head. Aroma is somewhat burnt. White lace. Good bitter flavor. Great clean finish.

Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of bread, biscuit, diacetyl, hints of trashy bread, hints of slight fruit. Taste is a mix of grass, bread, butter, caramel, hints of slight grainy notes, finishing slightly tart, dry.

Moderate citrus hoppiness. Caramel, white bread crumbs and citrus peel. A bit dirty but not bad. Standard fare pale ale, not that that’s a bad thing.

This is just a GOOD BEER. It’s a safe pale ale that’s hard not to like. Of the beers at MCBW, this may be my favorite just ahead of their flagship Ghetto Blaster. It’s very mild, smooth, lightly carbonated, and with a watery mouth feel like most of the beers at this place. I’d get another one if I were to visit again, for sure. It’s not unique by any means, but it still makes for an EXCELLENT session beer.

Bright clear yellow color with sticky white lacing. Mild aroma with some grass notes. Very easy drinking with a slight creaminess. Not a lot on the finish. Fairly one note.

Bottle bought from brewery. Very soft aroma, mild, a little musty. A little cloudy, gold / yellow color, white head. Mild taste, simple finish. Not a hoppy pale ale at all... not much flavor. Maybe something is lost in the bottling vs. at the brewery...

kwoeltje (2233) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - AUG 1, 2010
(draught at brewery) medium gold/amber with white head. Mild malt and hops aroma. Flavor is mild floral hops and malt. I’d have called this more of an English style PA

Braudog (6719) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - JAN 27, 2010
Draft pint at the brewpub. Very bright beer, light orange and attractive. A beer with a light character, yet full bodied, with a nice citric flourish. Yummy. (#3809, 1/23/2010)

On tap at the brewery. This is a great example of "meets the style" and nothing more. Nothing stands out about this beer, good or bad. It’s black label IPA. Nailed the style, failed to move me.
