Poured into pint glass very dark brown in color with minimal head. The taste is roasted chocolate barley with a lingering espresso finish. Overall a pretty solid porter ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

AROMA: A fading coffee aroma; slightly fruity. Minor chocolate presence. Seems to be a metallic or tang scent. 8/12APPEARANCE: Deep brown hue with light garnet edges. Small, dark tan foam never dissipates and leaves some lacing. 2/3FLAVOR: Typical porter palette throughout. Dark malt flavor and sweetness with notes of chocolate and perhaps some dark fruit in the background. Sweet, but far from rich or cloying. Bitterness is fairly low; no distinct flavor, just a mild earthy sensation. Can is only 3.5 months old, but coffee flavor has severely diminished. Espresso emerges briefly in the aftertaste. 14/20MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body and carbonation (seems too light for 6.5%). Texture is soft and smooth which makes it easy to gulp down. Leaves a slightly dry/bitter aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can home on 12yr wedding anniversary. Nice deep dark pour. Nose is sweet coffe drink. Tastes of rich French roast, light cocoa, cream, malt and cola. Not sweet at all. Drying finish. Nice stuff

Black with a tight tan head. Aroma is very roasty, with coffee, mild chocolate. Taste is on the roasty side, espresso dryness, some chocolate.

Cybercat (6433) - Georgia, USA - JUL 19, 2017
Pours opaque dark chocolate with a thick and fairly persistent tan head. Aroma delivers rich roasted malt, quality coffee and molasses tones - and is that a snippet of semi-sweet chocolate? Flavor gets the taste buds a-dancin’ thanks to quality roast coffee, roast malt, molasses, and subtle chocolate tones, and maybe a hint of caramel. Mouthfeel offers firm, viscous body and jazzy fizz. Ride this espresso express.

hopscotch (11492) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 26, 2017
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2018 Draft... Dense dark brown pour with a small, tight, off-white collar. The aroma features big-time licorice and chocolate crème. Full-bodied and silky with trace carbonation. The flavor is roasty, hearty and bold - more of a feeling than a flavor. There's some espresso and licorice here as well.

OVERALL IMPRESSION: This works pretty well as a porter, but comes up short as an espresso brew. Surprised coffee has faded this much this quickly. 6/10

TOTAL SCORE: 33/50

At the brewery. Vanilla. Smooth mildly sweet coffee and vanilla with a creamy mouthfeel. All 3 of us liked it as the best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy
