COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A well balanced, malty ale brewed with pride of ringwood and citra hops, then dry hopped with distinctive Tasmanian Galaxy hops. It’s medium bodied and just bitter enough. It’s made for drinking. Just drinking.

Thanks Victor! This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a ruddy amber color with a sly transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a nice pace. Fluffy white foamy head. Dissipates slowly. Light messy lacing. The aroma takes some piney hops to hit against a soft toffee to nutty malt. The flavor mildly leans sweet through the previously mentioned aromas. Crisp malty sweet aftertaste with a dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Mild carbonation feels nice on my tongue. Fairly smooth. Overall, this was a pretty good pale ale, almost a cross between an American one and an English one.

Bottle: Copper to deep amber. Moderate head. Very cloudy. Aromatic. Malty, yeasty, some age. Moderate to low hops. Tropic and melon. Rich need sweet palate. Low bitterness. Not sour. Lacks vibrant bright palate. Medium length. Very malty palate. More English style than American. Good Australian beer.

Crisp copper coloured body with a nice bronze glow and a perfect, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of fresh earthy and grapefruity hops with a nice malt smell and a hint of grass and hay. Medium-bodied; Good balance of malt and hops with some pleasant light resinous and grassy notes with a very mild caramelised sugar sweetness. Aftertaste shows some herbal and grassy notes with a solid and smooth malt backbone. Overall, a nice and relatively light APA with some nice herbal and grassy flavours, but not a horrible amount of hops, which is fine. I sampled this tall (australian styled) 65 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 09-June-2012 for US$8.50 sampled at home in Washington on 17-June-2013.

Very strong floral aroma with a decently bitter hop bite. Interesting carbonation with a slight funk. Pretty good overall.

Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - SEP 21, 2012
Pours a light copper color with aroma of floral hops and malt. Taste is clean with a mild hops taste. This beer has a taste of nature with a taste of the aroma of freshly mowed grass left on the palate. A good pale ale with a complex taste.

brokensail (16609) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Pours a clear amber color with a finger or two of off-white head. The nose starts off with a citrus fruitiness and a touch of melon. There’s a nice bit of melon and some floral perfume notes. After the hops fade away, it’s all bread. The flavor is mostly bread with a lot of straw, grass, and floral hops. A light citrus note to it and minimal bitterness. Easy enough to drink, but not terribly good.

Bottle. Pours dark amber with off white head. Nose and taste of caramel malt, citrus, pineapple and tropical fruits. Medium body. Dry bitter finish.

Definitely the best Australian beer I have had to date, by quite a fair amount. Very enjoyable, very easy to drink, and definitely one to enjoy again. This is really just on the cusp of being an IPA not an APA but due to the moderate alcohol (ABV), I could have more than one of these...

blipp (9502) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 31, 2012
Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Hoppy flowery aroma, with lighter pale malty notes. The flavor has floral hops, husky pale malts, and some lightly sweet crystal-ish malts. Not bad.

Draught at Blind Tiger, NYC. Cloudy red/brown - offwhite head. Wooden hops. Berries. Medium malty. Sweetness. Candlewax. Light bitterness. Medium hoppy. Fruity. Caramel. Honey. A bit strange messy.
