On tap at the Alehouse Project. I think they nailed it. Aromas of liquorice, caramel, chocolate, some cola and grass. Taste is sweet and bitter, long lasting. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Black with a frothy head. Danev76 (505) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 12, 2014
Nice blend of citrus and resinous hops. Jet black colour with nice head. Creamy caramel and choc flavours with a bitter resin finish. Med to heavy body with med carbonation

By 640ml bottle from Archive Brisbane. Nearly black, just a bit of red dawn poking through under a tight light brown cover. Gee my, aren’t we lucky here in Australia to have brewers that create beer like this! Just sensational, if you like black IPA’s please try it. Please [email protected]
Goat re release the Pepperberry IPA.
Near on pitch black poor with a minimal head. Nice roasted malts with a mocha and caramel flavour coming through. The hops produce a pleasant balance with a enjoyable bitterness and floral aroma. Slight dry finnish.
For me this is another well balanced Ipa with the variety of hops and malts used. Davros (3137) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 4, 2012
Pours dark brown with a large, lasting head.
Nose shows a fair bit of grapefruit and tropical fruit-like hops. Underneath is some roasted malt. Also some resinous notes. Pretty rad!
Fairly roasty flavours but still quite approachable (especially for a BIPA!). Lots of hops in there too, providing big tropical fruit flavours. Excellent balance between the hops and roasted malt.
Could use a bit more carbonation.

650mL bottle. Pours pitch black with an off white head and an amazing hoppy grapefruit/citrus aroma with a nice coffee bean hint. Amazing grapefruit flavour with grassy notes. I love this beer, the hop is the star as it should be and the darker malts only add a slight creamy coffee hint. jdpeebs (686) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - DEC 6, 2012
From a 640ml bottle- Two of my favourite styles but together can’t do any better than that. varanid99 (1180) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 31, 2013
Black pour with a thick, fluffy pale brown head. Fruit cake, smoke, malty aromas, tiny bit of coffee. There is a little coffee in the taste too, some passionfruit, chocolate, roasty flavours, a little oily and very more-ish. Fantastic beer. leftside (5) - - MAR 6, 2013 does not count
Aromas of roasted malts and citrusy hops; pours a deep amber/brown with a thin tan head and delicate lacing. The taste is incredible - it retains the ’typical’ IPA characteristics (hoppiness, spiciness) and the roasted taste only kicks in after the beer is held in the mouth for a few seconds. Superb balance and complexity. Body is light and refreshing, a little on the fizzy side but nothing too extreme. The finish is long and hoppy - delightful. Overall, worth repeated drinks. Very pleasant and interesting. Gramoit (490) - Surrey, ENGLAND - OCT 3, 2012
Hops and roasted malts on the nose. Taste: Chocolate and coffee with Hops, and a slight bitter finish. Great stuff
