650ml bottle. Another in the Mountain Goat Rare Breed Series. Looks robust when poured with a burnt copper colour and a large crown of sandy coloured foam, Fruity hop notes with a caramel malt backdrop. Smooth and velvety in the mouth and the 7.2% alc/vol is hidden well in the toffee flavours that come through. Intense flavour hit that really penetrates the whole mouth. Very easy to drink and quite clean with a long lasting finish. A really good drop and I would recommend that you hightail it to the bottleshop and track one down. This 650ml bottle was bought at Era Wine Store in West End, Brisbane.

Pour is very dark amber with big long lasting tan head. Aroma is citrusy hoppy goodness which is similar to the initial taste which is citrus which leads to good bready maltiness and a nice lasting hopfinish. Contains the 7.2% really well. sneaks2210 (46) - New York, USA - JUL 25, 2012
Pours dark amber with a nice foamy off-white head. The aroma is quite nice with floral hops and dark fruits (raisins & plums) up front, and a sweet maltiness in the background. The sweet malts come through in the taste with a good amount of caramel, brown sugar and molasses. A hop bitterness and a touch of alcohol is present in the finish. on tap at local tahpouse darlo. quite different to the regular hightail. a lot more hopped up with a thicker malt and an overall better mouthfeel

Not bad. Kind of a Belgian/English strong hybrid. Caramel and Stone Fruit nose. Has the ester and fruitiness of a Belgian, with the slight toffee and caramel backbone of an English ale. 2010 Edition. Not as souped up (vs. the standard) as the label would have you believe but still a very solid beer. Plenty of pretty sweet malt character (coffee and toffee) and a decent hop firmness in the back palate. Very accessible to many palates and indeed a good intro to upmarket craft beer. Pours dark amber with an off-white small head.
Nose shows lots of peach and passionfruit hops along with more tropical fruit. Underneath is rich caramel malt.
Similar flavours but more malty, with a little alcohol showing and a soft bitterness.
Carbonation is a little high.
