3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled draught at CBC, blue session, Saturday afternoon May 4, 2013.
Hazy copper color, tan head. Hoppy, herbal scent. Herbal, hoppy taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
330 ml bottle. Bought in a licor schop in Australia (Fucking expensive!). Nice amber color, low carbonation. High hops smell. Not a lot of taste, disapointed so far with Australian beer :( CurlyJoe (242) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 31, 2017
Clear brown with creamy head. Aroma of sweet toffee. Big malt taste, toffee and dark biscuits. Unexpected lingering bitterness too. DavidAust (275) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAR 5, 2017
Bottle to stemmed glass. Pours dark toffee colour with a nice white head; just shy of two fingers. Disappaited too quickly, and no lacing. Aroma - I got nothing through the foam. Later when it dropped the malts came through with faint hints of dark current like fruits / boozy fruitcake - but not strong. Taste was nicely malty towards the sweet end but only just. Like so many of the mountain goat range the carbonation overrides any other mouthfeel and ruins the palate. Pale shade of the Fancy Pants ale which is fantastic. mice (962) - FINLAND - AUG 8, 2016
Kuitenkin maitokauppaolueksi ihan hieno suoritus. Suutuntuma keskitäyteläinen, kohtalaisen hiilihappoinen ja raikas. wombat23 (1416) - Texas, USA - JUL 28, 2016
Shared 22 oz. bottle. Amber color with a light beige head. Aroma of malt and caramel, very sweet-smelling. Taste is malt, caramel, alcohol, rust. Some oxidation noted. Probably too old.

Note: from old bottle that was "best by" 3 1/2 years ago; Aroma: sickly sweet, malty with apple juice notes; Appearance: amber, hazy pour with billowy white head; Taste: very odd; simultaneously sweet yet also tasteless; hard to describe; Palate: medium body with long, sweet finish; Overall: yuck. Maybe just too old. KeefOz (1838) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - JUN 18, 2016
Poured a translucent amber brown colour with a one-finger off-white/cream dense foam head that retained well and laced well. Carbonation moderate and coarse. Aroma of malts and sweet fruits; no obvious hops. Taste is malty with sweet caramel and toffee and some sweet fruits. Light body. Crisp, smooth and soft with mild sweetness on the finish. mcberko (17815) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 21, 2016
On tap at Mountain Goat, pours a cloudy deep dark orangey brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma is very restrained, with bready notes and very subtle English hopping. Flavour is along the same lines but even more tasteless. Weak and shitty. Pointless beer. sunevdj (4087) - Copenhagen OE, DENMARK - APR 23, 2016
On tap at CBC 2013. Pours a hazy light brown with a very small off-white head. Hoppy aromas of spruce with hints of pine. Also malty notes of caramel. Light bodied. Soft carbonation. Short bitter finish. mrjez (620) - Osaka, JAPAN - MAR 3, 2016
Drunk from the bottle. Rich aroma of caramel, toffee, candied brown sugar, a strong malt feel. The flavour is similar, it verges on hitting a sweet and cloying point with the malt dominant, very similar to a brown ale, but it pulls away just in time to give a fresh citrus hop ending. Quite lively carbonation and a dry finish the leaves lingering hop notes. Enjoyable.
