At what point does a beer move in to the malt liquor category? This one is getting close. Faint aroma, gold put with flat head. Flavor is thick corn malt with a boozy sugary finish. Needs more finish. Not the best goat mkel07 (6429) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUN 7, 2015
On tap at Young & Jackson’s 200515. Quite a big pilsner with some grain aromas and a deep amber colour. Looks fairly thick bodied but isn’t. You can tell from the first sip that this beer has a big alcohol hit. Ngejo (1000) - Jakarta, INDONESIA - APR 30, 2015
Tap. Hazy, orange, minimal head, white foam, medium bitterness, light sweetness, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, & bitter finish. davidm (2081) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JAN 15, 2012
On tap at the Courthouse. It offers a great combination of flavours. Aromas of orange, caramel, biscuit, with hints of apple and butter. Taste is sweet, slightly sour and bitter, with very long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Orange, with a thin head. TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 7, 2012
Draught at Josie Bones in Melbourne. Big malty mouthfeel, as you would expect, floral and fruity.

Tap at the Mountain Goat Brewery. Pours was a hazy orange with a huge, healthy, beige head with great retention and lace. Aroma of lemon, pineapple, pie, fresh fruits, fruit punch. After it warms there is a slight hint of nail polish remover and acetone which I’ll pretend is not there. Taste is boozy, powerful, fruity, almost like drinking a Sex on the Beach. Really no hop presence or even pilsener presence. There is more of a fruit and caramel and candi sugar element. So does not look like a pils, does not smell like a pils, and does not taste like a pils. In fact, my first thought is that this would fare well as American Strong Ale, but as a lager- I’m not sure what it would fall under. Maybe maibock. Mattburns (114) - USA - NOV 22, 2010
Really nice. Malty, crisp and refreshing. Quite sweet and a slight bitter finish just to balance. ndon (857) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 21, 2010
draught at Taphouse, Darlinghurst. Very surprised with how thick the mouthfeel this one had. quite hoppy and fruity for a pilsner, with a sweet alcohol burn at the finish. Stew41 (2093) - Phuket, THAILAND - NOV 18, 2010
A blind tasting to the extent I thought this beer was a standard pilsner. So I was somewhat confused to taste big creamy malts and a soupy hop flavour more appropriate to a DIPA, albeit not quite was weighty. Howeverr, upon discovering that the style was indeed an Imperial the flavours are completely appropriate. Another good seasonal from Goat.
