This is a Hop Driven, Malty Ale with a strong bitterness thanks to a good dose of Citra and Galaxy hops. Its a tough nut, but loveable all the same.

Those of you that loiter in bottleshops in your spare time will probably have noticed that our Rare Breed IPA is no longer a Rare Breed. Shes become an all-grown-up fully-fledged member of the permanent range. And like the doting parents we are, were super proud of her. She still has the same big tropical hop aroma we dry-hop using Galaxy (Tas), Citra (USA) and Motueka (NZ), and full malty body (Ale malt, Wheat and Crystal malts). Specs are: 6.2% abv, 65 BUone for hopheads and beer nerds everywhere.

Bottled from Systembolaget Shady copper with a medium, white head. Sweet and piney aroma with a lot of tropical fruits. Fresh mouthfeel and a rather light body. Medium, grass bitterness. Topical fruits and piney citrus in the flavour.

( bottle) NB. I am not sure whether this should be listed as a different beer - same brewer, same name, but clearly a different recipe - my guess is that this is based on the very well received Rare Breed IPA special they did recently. Anyway... Clear golden brown with loose, short-lived beige head. Awesome aroma: intense and attractive - floral, citrus, pine. Light body, medium not very fine carbonation. Flavour is very pleasant and satisfying. The floral and fruity, lemon and pine notes of the hops are present from the start and overlay a nice gentle maltiness. At the finish the hops develop a distinct cleansing bitterness which lasts; its not overwhelming like many IPA/APAs. Overall a very pleasant beer.

(bottle) Poured hazy golden amber with decent off-white head. Beautiful aroma - floral and fruity - pineapple and passion-fruit. Wonderful mouthfeel - plentiful soft carbonation on a medium body. Flavour has a tangy fruity start (grapefruit, pineapple, passion-fruit) on some subtle undertones of sweet malt. This moves to an impressive, but not overwhelming, hoppy bitter finish. Overall, an excellent hop-driven IPA that doesnt take things too far.

Pours a hazy amber colour. Head is large and thick. Aroma is pine, tropical fruit and soap. Flavour is resiny pine, wood and grapefruit. Long and big bitterness. Mouth feel might be a bit on the thin side but its still a pretty good IPA.

Aroma: Smelling of pine, resin, needles and bitter grape-fruit.
Appearance: A clouded amber brew with an off-white head leaving little lacing but good curtains.
Taste: Sweet bread, toffee, pine soap, citric juices and peels.
Palate: Medium carbonation, fresh texture, medium low body, a slightly dry finish.
Overall: Very much in the smell, a bit short in the body. But not bad ...
Note: Bottle 650 ml. Reviewed 2012-10-13.

Big offwhite head. Clear amber body with strong carbonation. Fruity metallic toffee aroma with perfumy earthy raisiny notes. Unusual aroma. Dry-sweet vinous pineapple taste with earthy resiny notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish burnt caramel and resin aftertaste with tropical fruit and gooseberry notes. Interesting and drinkable. Quite refreshing, too. (0.75l bottle, Systembolaget, Nordstan, Gteborg.)
