This is a Hop Driven, Malty Ale with a strong bitterness thanks to a good dose of Citra and Galaxy hops. Its a tough nut, but loveable all the same.

Those of you that loiter in bottleshops in your spare time will probably have noticed that our Rare Breed IPA is no longer a Rare Breed. Shes become an all-grown-up fully-fledged member of the permanent range. And like the doting parents we are, were super proud of her. She still has the same big tropical hop aroma we dry-hop using Galaxy (Tas), Citra (USA) and Motueka (NZ), and full malty body (Ale malt, Wheat and Crystal malts). Specs are: 6.2% abv, 65 BUone for hopheads and beer nerds everywhere.

Sample at a tasting. It poured a hazy golden liquid with a dirty white head. Fresh hop aroma with some citrus and tropical fruits. Similar taste with a noticeable but not overly aggressive bitterness.

Bottle, 64cl. A big, off-white head forms over a slightly unclear golden body. The aroma is on the hoppy side, but a bit weak I think. Some malts in the back, but tropical fruits dominates. Some citrusy hints too. Soft maltyness on the palate, a bit thin I think, especially considering the ABV. Pleasant carbonation level. Citrus, generic fruityness and some bitterness in the flavor. Could certainly use more bitterness. Overall, a beer that could use a bit more of almost everything, but its a fine brew anyway. 120413

What you would expect from an ipa, burnt orange in colour, malty some and sweet on the pallet. A nice drop.

Tasting at Papss
Cloudy deep blond color. The aroma is a bit hop-fruity, and yeasty. Decent toffee flavor, quite dry, with strong bitterness and some hop resins, some bitter orange too; cardboard. Easy, messy.

43cl on tap (6,2%) at Taps Beer Bar, KL. Clear amber with an off white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruits (passion), malt and caramel. Sweet and fruity with a nice lightly bitter finish. Very refreshing after a long day in the heat in Kuala Lumpur. Decent IPA! (2012-05-04)

Really, really nice beer. Found beer to have the base mountain goat flavours but far more mellow, less robust but never lost any of the amazing aroma and taste I enjoy from the mountain goat brewery. Will be stocking up on this one!
