COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a Hop Driven, Malty Ale with a strong bitterness thanks to a good dose of Citra and Galaxy hops. Its a tough nut, but loveable all the same.

Those of you that loiter in bottleshops in your spare time will probably have noticed that our Rare Breed IPA is no longer a Rare Breed. She’s become an all-grown-up fully-fledged member of the permanent range. …And like the doting parents we are, we’re super proud of her. She still has the same big tropical hop aroma – we dry-hop using Galaxy (Tas), Citra (USA) and Motueka (NZ), and full malty body (Ale malt, Wheat and Crystal malts). Specs are: 6.2% abv, 65 BU…one for hopheads and beer nerds everywhere.

Niksko (624) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUN 11, 2013
Pours a dark golden amber with a finger of creamy off whit head. Nose is slightly sweet, with orange and floral hops up front. Taste is very refreshing. I get some sweetness on the mid palate and some peach. The finish is bitter grapefruit and pine that lingers for a while. A really good beer. Certainly the best in their regular line up.

Nut brown - unusual colour for an ipa. Aromas of nuts and a hint of grapefruit. Malt and caramel lead into pine needles and a medium but long bitterness. The malt is well integrated throughout the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

jackl (8071) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 3, 2013
Tap @ CBC 2013. I was told this particular batch is a cascade & galaxy recipe. The pour’s medium amber with a small head. The nose is honeyed apple. A bit of earthy cinnamon. Mild lemon citrus. The taste is more honeyed apple. A bit of grain. Lemon meat. Medium body, fine carbonation. Overall, OK.

beer-yum (1710) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 17, 2013
Not as hoppy as American versions of the style. Would be more a regular Pale Ale in my book but it’s a nicely balanced and tasty brew regardless.
