Tap at Vine St. - a fairly dry and strongly spicy Belgian ale - particularly dry for the strength, with some strong flinty character and potent peppery phenols - a bit of tangy wheat and light estery character - moderate hop bitterness - like some of their other Belgians, the spicy phenols come on a bit strong and become abrasive after a while - enjoyable up to that point, but becomes hard to drink after half a glass. On tap at Vine Street. Hazy light gold, small head. Aroma of pear and banana, and light bread dough. Big palate slam, in a good Belgian way. Big banana and simple sugar, but with a coriander and orange peel vibe. Warming alcohol finish without being boozy. Bg, loud, and robust. Great and interesting golden ale.

hazed pale golden wheat colored body. perfumed nose heavy with creamy wheat and potpourri esters. moderate spiciness throughout: slightly bitter and astringent (herbal) upfront, but more like white pepper phenols and cardamom in the finish. can’t pick up the oats but the wheat is evident. moderately dry throughout and enjoyable for the most part.
