Sampler at the brewpub. Pours a medium beige head, with attractive lacing, over an almost black (SRM 35) body....nose is coffee, light chocolate.........taste is grain, light coffee.....mouth feel light, carbonation low. Tap @ Vine Street. Rich deep roasty coffee aroma. Pours black, no head, very viscous. Starts off sweet with burnt caramel, some coffee and lots of roasty malts but finishes dry with a little hop bitterness. Medium mouthfeel. Nitro tap at Vine st. Black with a creamy light tan tight head with lots of lace. Aroma of chocolaty peat, old linen, and a gentle touch of coffee creamer. Taste was slightly smokey, some peat, a little chocolate, and the taste also had just a dash of sweet creaminess while still remaining pretty dry after all. Pour on tap is dark brown with white head at Vine St location, aroma has notes of roasted malt, some slight coffee, dark fruit and biscuit notes. Taste is a bit thin, but roasted malt with coffee, chocolate finishes dry and slightly chalky. Decent, but fairly weak overall.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2016 Tap at brewpub. Black pour with a beige head. Slight roasted malt aroma and not much else. taste was watery Guinness and astringent. Very thin bodied for a stout. No thanks.
