CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - APR 28, 2009
On tap in Jan 09: Pours a mostly opaque dark mahogany with a stringy-lacing tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and milk chocolatey malts with a touch of piny hops. Starts fairly full and sweet with nice dark chocolatey flavor and bittering hop balance before a slightly roasty bittersweet finish. A pretty good porter.

Crushed with Jakebra on tap at the brewpub. Good roasty porter. Above average. Everything you want in a porter to a good extent. Excellent brew.

caesar (7170) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - OCT 9, 2008
Tap @ brewpub. Dark color, short brown head. Good aroma of coffee and malt. Malty body, some coffee, some chocolat. Quite bitter. Good stuff, but go for the java porter if you love good coffee.

Had this one on tap at the Southern Sun Brewery in Boulder. Pretty standard porter. Dark color with a nice tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee and bitter finish. OK, not great.

3fourths (9357) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 29, 2008
Draft at the brewery. Dark brown colored body with some lighter red and tan hues at the edges. Overall a fairly typical porter, some good chocolate and woody roast, some cream, even, but nothing spectacular. Smooth chocolate syrup texture, even and balanced throughout, but unremarkable.
