Very dark brown colour with a low-slung, fairly creamy head. Light coffee aroma with hints of nuts and very faint molasses. Fairly coffeeish character, light roast. A fairly assertive, stouty example. Ratman197 (15616) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUL 1, 2006

On tap at the Southern Sun Location. Poured a dark black color with red edges and a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of roast, coffee, and light chocolate. Tastes of roast, chocolate with a bitter coffee finish. Nice bitter finish. onceblind (10862) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 9, 2010
On tap @ Southern Sun brewpub. Darkish cola brown, with dark ruby tones where the light can shine through. Light brown fluffy head. Smells like chocolate coated hops. Interesting to smell this much hops in a porter. Some coffee and cocoa come through, but unfortunately thats all I can detect. The hops provide a mild bitterness that I’m really not used to in my porters. Awesome aroma with a ho-hum taste. cubs (10740) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JAN 7, 2011
Tap at Pearl Street location. Pours a deep black body with a dark colored head. Dark roasted malts with a touch of espresso in the nose. Creamy and lightly carbonated. Dark chocolate malty body though a bit watery. Ok. 3fourths (9367) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 29, 2008
Draft at the brewery. Dark brown colored body with some lighter red and tan hues at the edges. Overall a fairly typical porter, some good chocolate and woody roast, some cream, even, but nothing spectacular. Smooth chocolate syrup texture, even and balanced throughout, but unremarkable.
