Bottle. Pours an extremely dark brown with a very small head. Nose has some coffee notes to it, though I don’t find the smell extremely strong. Taste is strong like a good espresso, Nice find. DeliriumT (543) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - NOV 17, 2012
Pours black with little to no head. Smells toasty and tastes similar. Lacks a sweet or robust edge to make this more interesting Drake (14059) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 30, 2012
Bomber from State Line. Pours a very dark brown color with a large frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of chocolate malts and a bot of coffee hidden behind a cherry/green apple note. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, nuts and a tart note. Medium bodied, quite fizzy. Not bad but maybe a little off. ipamonger (81) - New Brunswick, CANADA - OCT 18, 2012
Pours black, with a cola like fizz that rests into a thin, beige head. Aroma of coffee, brown sugar, roasted malt. Taste is a good balance of sweet and bitter, like a really dark chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel. Slightly salty bitter finish. Could really go for some cheddar cheese with this one. Nice porter. oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - SEP 30, 2012
Bottled. Deep ambery brown, close to black, colour with a small beigeish brown head that vanishes quite fast. Aroma is roasted malts, some sweet maltyness, ashes as well as chocolate, coffee and mild liquorice. Aroma is toasted malts, chocolate, roasted coffee, liquorice and some slight bitterness in the finish. Pleasantly balanced session porter.

Deep brown-black pour. The nose is lovely. Lots of cocoa and bittersweet chocolate. There is also a touch of light herbal character on top of the malt sweetness. A little bit of grassy hop flavour in addition to the soft lingering chocolate flavour. Light grassiness on the back - smells sweet but is well balanced. A faint touch of toasted malt through the middle that helps give it some complexity without being overtly sweet. Solid. Spab (4003) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 31, 2012
650 ml bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits (Halifax). Pours a very dark brown with the vaguest hint of orange/red and a large tan head. Aroma is quite strong coffee but with an underlying chocolate and molasses sweetness. Flavour is strong, somewhat bitter coffee with a little semi-sweet chocolate and a touch of vanilla as it warms. Lingering roasty bitterness in finish. Quite pleasant. Jado (804) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - AUG 31, 2012
Black body with brown highlights topped by a beige head that dissipates fairly quickly. Lots of chocolate on the nose. Taste is dark malt, coffee, more chocolate and a light fruity note. The body is full but paradoxically the beer finishes fairly dry. Good palate. A very nice porter. Bendrixian (1514) - Canadiana, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 29, 2012
Dark brown to black colour with a tan head. Up front aroma of roasted coffee that that has an almost burnt note. Beyond that there is some chocolate and a hint of some thing exotic as well, almost like brine. Rich fuller bodied brew with a espresso taste, a little bit of burnt toast on the initial stage then it finishes a bit sour and fruity. A very tasty brew indeed. Very deep dark mahogany to black colour. Frothy head and lace. Malt, chocolate and fruit aroma. Chocolate malt flavour. Roasted goodness, coffee. Tasty brew. No complaints. True to its style. Close to a stout but for the bitter finish. Nice beer.
