Bitterbill (2104) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - DEC 20, 2017
From Aug 2008 This pours a clear medium gold with a 2 finger head of foam. Above average head retention and average lacing. The smell is another massive hop permeating sensation. Lots of grapefruit and grass, not much fruit at all to speak of, and no malt presence at all. Something describing itself as a triple IPA...no surprise there but I hope the taste does indeed have some indication that malt was used. Oh yeah, some booze hits my nose buds but not much. The taste..ok..this one is bitter and I *do* mean bitter. Grapefruit at its most bitter, some grass, I want to say there's some other fruit here but I'm finding it hard to find it. The malt? I *know* it's there some where but I'll be danged if I can taste any sign of it. Bitter, bitter, BITTER! Ok, I'll settle down now. Mouthfeel is medium, the carbonation is very brisk, it finishes..you've guessed it..BITTER! This is a real palate killer and I won't have another brew tonight after finishing this bomber, not because the abv is overpowering as I think it's hidden well. I don't think my taste buds can taste anything after this monster of an Ale. And that's a shoot. Bottom line: I'm glad I drank this after trying some other brews. I think it goes over the top for the style when it comes to a hoppy brew. When I finish this bottle, it will be my last encounter with Hopsickle.

Barwa bursztynowa z dużą, gęstą pianą. Aromat żywiczny, sosnowy, mocno cytrusowy. W smaku żywiczne, iglakowe przełamane mocną cytrusową goryczką. Dobre pifko.

Ok I hit it. Too many hops. And this coming from a guy who worships hops. Pours cloudy gold with a small white top. Aroma is hops, shitloads of hops. Hopsickle is the right name as this smells like one. Taste is resinous, lacing citrus and pine hops. So much that it’s syrupy. I can only imagine the amount of malt thrown in this to try and balance it out. Didn’t work, it’s bitter, and syrupy and resinous with a touch of dank. It’s growing on me but I really don’t think that this is something that I want again.

Fat @Syltan, Malmö. Bärnstensfärgad öl med vitt skum. Doft av malt, karamell, citrus och tallbarr. I smaken tillkommer grapefrukt och kåda. Oljig munkänsla.

Pours hazy amber with a medium frothy white head. Aromas of mango, peach, apricot, resin, pine. Taste is very fruity and quite grassy with a pleasant bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation.

Heavenly orange brown color. Smells of sweet malt and some hops. Taste is super hoppy, sweet, but balanced. Very nice.

Moylan’s Hopsickle is hopped to hell and back, but it has some nice malty shoulders to stand on. It leaves absolutely no doubt about being a West Coast Imperial Ale, but the big caramel malt layer keeps this hop-forward brew in check. Amber-orange coloring. Pithy tropical fruit smells with some damp, dank pine needles. Flavor goes with the nose. Plenty of aggressive American hops. Pine, grapefruit, orange, peach, and floral notes. It’s resinous but not as bitter as you might expect. Finish is hugely dry yet surprisingly smooth. It’s good to see distribution from this brewery in my area. I hope that’s a trend that continues.

mgajdaczewa (2448) - Katowice, POLAND - DEC 19, 2016
