Beautiful cloudy amber with big creamy head. Nice blend of hop aromas is very inviting...and yeah, this is one hoppy beer. Big bitter hop taste is obviously the focal point. You get what you expect with this beer....lots of hops! It ain’t balanced, it ain’t complex, bit it sure is hoppy. realale420 (399) - west covina, California, USA - NOV 20, 2006
22oz bottle pored a clear pale/amber color with a nice head. The aroma was supper hopped with citrus, pine, grapefruit, caramal malts and some alcohol. The taste was big and bitter with a strong hop flavor and huge alcohol warmth. I think this is more of an Imperial IPA than a Double. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - NOV 19, 2006
GABF-on tap-pours an offwhite head that laces with amber color. Aroma is medium hops-citrus, bitter, piney. Taste is citrus hops-bitter, piney, secondary malt. Dry finish. Medium body. ChazMania (669) - Oceanside, California, USA - NOV 17, 2006
UPDATED: APR 14, 2007 Bomber. Wow, this is up there with the finest of all. It has the great tension of flavor between bitter hop and aromatic fruit. I tasted clear pine and citrusy grapefruit along with a slight bubblegum thing. Me and 3 others did a taste test with 4 Imperials, this along with 3Floyds, Stone 10, and Reaper Sleighor. It’s a good time to be alive and like strong IPA! raphael (1254) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 16, 2006
This beer finds a tenous balance at a high edge of bitterness and flavor. Hop assault.
citrus and piney aroma. almost too much aroma for the mouth to hold. don’t now why the tongue doesnt go numb in surrender.

Thanks to both FlacoAlto & jjpm74 for bottles of this beer. the aroma is a nice spicy fresh floral hop smell with some piney resiny aromas coming through, all the while there are even hints of citrus/fruity smell. The taste is a really nice and smooth malty sweet at the front with a thick mouthfeel and then has a really big and nice bitter finish to th beer. The bitterness sits on the tounge for a while. Overall a damn good beer, and it makes me mad that I can find all other moylans brews in Ohio...but not the hopsickle for some reason. Hopistotle420 (1178) - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 7, 2006
Pours a cloudy ruddy orange amber. Thick densely packaged beige-ish head. Caramel/toffee, citrus, grapefruit, pine resin nose. Sweet, chewy malts up front, toasted, roasty, medium to full body, dry, earthen, citric, floral, perfumey, pine hops linger along a drawn out finish. This is not far from some hoppy sex in the mouth. Khaki hop shorts, struttin down the sidewalk. Toss me some salad, you braggot. Thanks to Turd Ferguson for making me bring him to Julio’s for this luscious puppy. dwyerpg (6187) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - NOV 6, 2006
Big change coming from the Cantillon Iris to this - beer 15 at the party, for me. Almost some malts in the aroma! The taste is very hoppy, with a simple finish that just gets more and more hops, esp. in the after after-taste. Nice. jrob21 (3690) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 4, 2006
I’ve been hanging on to this one for a bit but am glad I finally cracked it open. Citrusy, slightly spicy aroma. I swear I get a little bubble gum aromas as well. Creamy white head adds texture on the first couple of sips. Sweet caramel tastes with a sugary aftertaste that lastes for a while. Finish is the expected bitter taste but not overpowering. Reminds you of what kind of beer you are drinking. Well made double. Big ups to fordest for this one.
