On tap at Beachwood Brewing in Long Beach. Pours a dark amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and toffee. Flavor follows and is toffee and caramel, with some bitterness. Really nice beer.

Coloração ambar/marrom escura. Espuma densa, cremosa, duradoura. Aroma adocicado, chocolate, café caramelo, toffe. Paladar com dulçor médio , amargor leve/médio só no aftertaste. Sabor bastante complexo, varia de um dulçor médio até um amargor misturado com café. Muito boa

"diggin this style as a change of pace from american barleywines. sweet, but not overly so, with a wonderful fruity aroma. just enough hops to balance the fruitiness and the malt. pours a dark amber. thick bodied. well done."

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2013 On tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured deep, amber/burnt orange with a thin head. Some whiskey soaked oak on the nose. Sweet, boozy with some bourbon notes. Ultimately it dried out to a paint thinner-sorta acidic character that lent to a sour apple character. Wasn’t feeling that.

You should know from just the name whether or not this is for you. It’s big, in both flavor and texture. One whiff of the thick Bourbon nose should let you know if you should proceed. Flavor has chocolate, dark fruit and bourbon. Finish is alcoholy kick and burn. Rich. Nightcap.

nuplastikk (6476) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 13, 2013
Tap at Sugar Maple. Deep opaque burgundy-brown. Soapy, patchy beige head. Carbonation is very soft and natural/mellowed out. Thick molasses, oaky bourbon flavor. Almost creeping into Old Ale territory. Lots of dark fruit tones. The non-existent carbonation brings it down a notch, but this is still a solid beer, very enjoyable to sip at. Sweet butterscotch bourbon, very nice, mellow despite the ABV.

#Must LOVE Bourbon alert!# This is probably the heaviest beer i have had in some time - imagine Earth Crisis circa Gomorrah’s Season Ends in terms of unrelenting power and texture. Huge big sound Bourbon nose. Lots of chocolate and bourbon as well as crazy alcohol burn. Lovely dark amber colour. Delicious, but really, really rich and a bit too oppressive for mine.

On tap at Sugar Maple barleywine fest. Pours a cloudy earthy caramel brown with no head whatsoever. Aroma has sweet grains, caramel, toffee and warming bourbon with a bit of an alcohol burn. Flavor has bread, bourbon, toffee and a good amount of alcohol burn.

(On draught at Aces and Ales). Pours a hazy amber color with a creamy tan head. Aroma has whiskey, caramel, brown sugar and vanilla. Taste is sweet with plenty of bourbon. Full bodied with a sticky texture. Finish is warming and has alcohol burn. Ok.
