Cask. Pours with a black hued body and a tan head. Aromas are of coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, bready, espresso, anise, dusty, brown sugar. Medium-low esters, lactose. Smells rich. Flavors are a bit husky, some tannin, drying oak sensation. Brown sugar, black strap molasses, coffee. Pretty dry, earthy, tar, a bit rustic. Tannic, low carbonation with an impressive heft to the mouthfeel. Very well hidden alcohol. angrypirate06 (1388) - Texas, USA - NOV 16, 2012

On cask at The Hay Merchant. Pours a dark brown with beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is a strong roasted malt and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt and coffee and oak with a bit watery in the finish. A decent variation of the original.
