"a very different take on Hopsickle, with lots of oak and sweet buttery barrel coming through in the aroma and flavor. the hops only really make their presence known in the aroma and the bitter finish and aftertaste, but are overshadowed by the new found complexities. served warm on cask. quite nice!"

Tap @ The BeerMongers 4th anniversary party... Poured a deep amber, burnt orange with a thin, bubbly head. Really awesome vinous, candied grape nose. Carbonation and mouthfeel felt just right with a nice mix of green, earthy hops along with a nice resinous tone. Oak and red wine. Some sugary malt tones that created a grape bubblelicious character. Mild bitteness on this one with an awesome wine character.

Pours a paler amber with a nice head that lasts. Aroma is very hoppy with plenty of citrus and pine. Body is medium with some fruits and pine bitterness flavors. Nice touch with the wine barrels adding a pleasant fruit and oak touch. Finish is slightly astringent with the white fruit cleaning up the dryness.

On tap at brewpub. Aroma and flavor of sweet, triple-hopped IPA. Lots of floral notes. Not much Chardonnay to speak of, but it does take the edge off of the base brew. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Copper pour with amber tinges. Aroma of citrus hops and some white wine and oak. Flavor is an odd mix of chardonnay and hops. Low carbonation.

FoBab. Last of the night. Totally hazy amber / orange color. Nice piney earthy hops, big red grapefruit nose. Crisp, lighter carbonation, drier texture. Good brightness to the body, relatively light for the ABV. Great big bitter taste. Nice ending to the event.

This poured a brighter orange color with a beige head. Aroma was loads of hops, light wine character, and some oak. Flavor was interesting to say the least, palate crushing hops, and a nice fruity balance between the grapefruit from the hops and the wine fruitiness. Nice experiement, and different than anything else i’ve ever had.

THe hoppiest and most bitter fresh hop IPA I have had. Odd to throw it in wine barrels but it isn’t bad overall.

Big puncy hops on the nose. Some chardonnay character - spritzy character, but low carbonation. Weird. Slightly phenolic and a bit flat. Big biting citrus hops to finish. Nice hop burps. Nice, but I’ll stick with the original.
