Brown sugar, tree bark, aroma. Clear brown, medium tan head. Coffee, soil, pecan mildly sweet. Medium body, moderate carbonation. ganache (6087) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 3, 2017
Bottle. Nose nice, dark coffee, mild malt behind it. Hazy pour is very light brown with tawny and ruby undertones, a full and creamy beige head. Taste light bitterness, semi-dry, very nutty, strong coffee, medium-strong malt, very fine carbonation in a perfectly-crafted fullish body. Red berry fruit, hint of roast/scorch from the malt and not coffee, faint citrus and green/living notes, very fresh and clean. Superb balance sets this one apart! Sampled on draft at Vintage Estate this beer poured a very dark brown color with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy beige head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was toasty, woody and had a brewed coffee element. The flavor was toasty and woody with maple, brewed coffee and cracker. Long finish. Medium body. Huge coffee aroma and flavor, slight earthy hops, clean malt and yeast profile, balanced semi dry finish ContemplateBeer (2097) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JAN 31, 2016
12 oz. bottle from Old Town; shared with my Boo. Aroma: Light coffee roast with light toast and a hint of blackberries. Appearance: Slightly hazy dark toffee brown with a foamy tan head that settles into a sticky skin. Flavor: Roast + sweet and toasted malts up front a drier, lightly spicy hop finish; fruity esters from the nose didn’t stick around. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: A pretty nice coffee beer, especially with the balance struck between coffee and the base ale.
