Bottled sample at Jakes in Ashland Ohio. Very dark in colour. Lots of coffee flavour. Would have been good with dessert

Bottle. Lightly ashy chocolate coffee malt and dry grass aroma. Black with small head. Sweet mocha coffee malt and lightly bitter hay/ash flavor. A nicely drinkable stout. Drjohnrock (841) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 8, 2014
Sampler from bottle at 2014 Price Hill Beer Fest on February 16, 2014--glad they had this because I can’t find my original tasting notes. Very appealing roasted malt aroma, opaque brown hue, good taste that doesn’t quite live up to the aroma’s promise but still a quite satisfying brew. nuplastikk (6453) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 20, 2013
12oz bottle. Opaque black body. Steady, thick beige head. Roasty chocolate aroma. Kind of bitter and sharp, in a cocoa way. Big creamy chocolate tones. This is a solid Stout, Thick specialty malts. Certainly a good beer, exceeded my moderate expectations. crajun (1263) - , Texas, USA - NOV 3, 2013
Nice brew!! 12 oz bottle to glass. Coffe and roast in aroma dark pour. Taste is similar to aroma maybe even too much coffee in taste. Did enjoy the over roasted coffee flavor. Med palate

a pretty outstanding stout, full of roasty dark grains, some smoke and leather, coffee and a bit of chicory. very nicely done. burg326 (5607) - Florida, USA - MAY 10, 2013
12 ounce bottle poured a dark brown color with aromas of roast, light chocolate, some earth and some light dark fruit. Flavors are roast, earth and some chocolate. A great beer overall with some nice mouthfeel. rangerred (989) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - APR 25, 2013
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours pitch black with a half finger dark tan head. Decent head retention but not much at all in the way of lacing.
Aroma of heavily roasted malt along with some espresso and dark chocolate. Pretty typical for the style and nothing exceptional really stands out.
Lots of roast character in the flavor with a touch of ashy smokiness that blends nicely with the roast. Chocolate is a little less noticeable along with the coffee. Roast and smoke are the predominant flavors. Mouthfeel is slick and a little thin finishing with a touch of stickyness.
Overall, a completely average run of the mill American stout. There are no flaws but there is nothing that really stands out either. brewsandfutbal (12) - Ohio, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Nice flavors of coffee and chocolate. Very well balanced stout that had smooth carbonation. Overall a good stout that I would definitely drink again. Evolutionary (526) - Ohio, USA - DEC 29, 2012
Bottle from Ty. Dark coffee nose and thick pour. Oak hints upfront and coffee to follow. Almost burnt malt and grain aftertaste though.
