#1000 On tap at Jungle Jims Spring Brew Fest. Pours out a almost black topped with a nice tan head. A nice sweet aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. tast more of the sweetness and some bitter dark. Also a nice roast malt on it. I am happy to have a small local brew as my 1K. GMUcrew7 (577) - Mason, Ohio, USA - MAR 29, 2008
Half gallon bottle, pours very nice deep brown/black, with very tan head. Aroma is overwhelmingly coffee and chocolate. A roasted mocha flavor is the best way to describe the flavor. The body is somewhat light, one of the low points of an otherwise great beer. Dogbrick (12912) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 15, 2008
Growler from Party Source. Pours an opaque black color with a medium thick and foamy tan head that diminishes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Roasted malt and coffee in the nose, plus a hint on anise. Rich and creamy body with a nice roasted character. Flavors of sweet malt, milk chocolate and coffee are all present along with a bit of hops. The finish is roasty with a coffee aftertaste. Pretty good all around. yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - FEB 1, 2008
Thanks dickinsonbeer, growler. Pretty good. Aroma of black licorice and some rich coffee. Taste is sweet roasted malts and creamy coffee. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 30, 2007
I think Cewldre sent me a growler of this. Thanks! Pours a nice deep black with not much light shining through- decent head and good lace. Aroma is sharp nutty chocolate malts, with lots of roast and coffee- very clean. Nice toasty and sharp roasted malts, chocolates, light doughy yeast and some mineral in the finish. Damn- this was way better than expected. Very well made stout.

Growler shared by Dickinsonbeer. It pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is strong with fume-y chocolate and espresso bean. Taste is lightly mineral and sweat dark malts. Very nice, highly drinkable stout. hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - DEC 29, 2007
Shared by dickinsonbeer at his gathering, from a growler. Black in color- no head, looks like the carbonation is suffering from the growler. Aroma: roast, chocolate, light notes of caramel and chalk. Taste: assertive roast and chocolate, balanced nicely by some sweet crystal/pale malts. Some lingering roast and dry chocolate in the finish. well done. FLP62 (6) - USA - OCT 13, 2007 does not count
Black appearance with a nice brown head. Chocolatey coffee notes that balance really well with the creamy body. Nice and heavy, like a stout should be. Great in front of an outdoor fire. Winner. kenb (1102) - Oregon, USA - OCT 11, 2007
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2007 Growler via Mys Swap 2.0 (thanks cewldre!). Pours black with a huge tan head. Nose is chocolate, roasty, and floral hops. Tastes just like it smells, is pretty sweet with a nice mocha finish. Body is light, carbonation moderate/high. Tis is quite tasty and highly sessionable. I would rate it even higher if it wasn’t so over-carbonated.

Thanks to hopdog for the growler...
Appears a near black with chestnut edges when held up to the light. The small, tan head fades into a mild film and collar.
Smell is of chocolate, caramel, nougat, cream, fresh peanuts, coffee, and cocoa powder.
Taste echoes the aromas with some standout mocha flavors that make for an interesting brew.
Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, nutty, with some java lingering.
