Enjoyed this although it is on the light side for an ale. Nice combination of spices.
Bottle. Orange, ginger, caramel malt, and hay aroma. Dark amber with large tan head. Moderately sweet orange caramel malt and moderately bitter metallic/quinine and grapefruit peel flavor. Good body. Okay but a bit harsh. wxman (1824) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - NOV 28, 2015
Pours a clear reddish orange with an antique lace head. Aroma is Christmas spices: cinnamon, cloves and a bit of ginger. Taste carries the spices as well, along with sweet caramel malt, mild hops and some alcohol in the back. A decent winter ale. arn8897 (399) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - NOV 26, 2015
Pours a clear copper color with an off white head. Aromas of, roasty, spruce, clove. Flavors the same with some malty flavor. Alcohol is hidden pretty well. Light to medium mouth feel. Nice lacing in the glass. Nice winter ale. AndyReynolds (1085) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 10, 2015
It’s ok. Subtle on the spices stronger on the alcohol. Nice on the brew bus. But...on the lemo law shits fucked. Ya kno mean. umich03jm (3513) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - DEC 31, 2014
Bottle thanks to DrSilverworm. Murky dark brown pour with a small head that fades to a ring and leaves some lacing. Aroma is mostly winter spices with some caramel and red fruit mixed in. Tastes like ginger, cinnamon, allspice, caramel, apples, and dark fruit. Not as overly spiced as some winter ales but it’s still a little more than I’d like. Medium body. Decent winter ale.

Bottle. Gifted. Malt and light hop presence. A little bitter, pretty sweet. Spice and cinnamon/sugar. Pine, ginger definitely. Not bad. Good winter ale, could be a session beer, but the sweetness is too much for me Patrickctenchi (6629) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - DEC 30, 2013
Pours deep, almost clear copper/chestnut with a thick, light tan head.
Light nutmeg, cinnamon, red cedar aroma.
Taste is caramel malt, holiday spices.....ginger.
....it’s OK, but has a chalky, medicinal feel to it.
Sort of a dusty bitter.
So-so. Ed5388 (3488) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - APR 21, 2013
12oz bottle. Pours a deep amber/brown with 2 fingers of off-white head. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel, vanilla and roasted malt. Taste mimics the nose, with some hints of allspice, and caramel malt. rangerred (989) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - JAN 4, 2013
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a clear deep ruby with a thick one finger tan head. Excellent head retention and lacing.
Aroma is very nice and definitely lets me know this is a winter warmer. Lots of spice in the way of orange peel, ginger and clove. Also a healthy shot of cocoa along with a dark roastiness.
The spice elements are more muted in the flavor. Ginger is quite prominent but orange and cocoa sneaks in. There is an odd chalkyness on the sides of the tongue that I am not crazy about. Not completely sure where that comes from but I am guessing they went a little heavy on the ginger. Some grassy hops also sneak through adding a nice element apart from the spice. Bitterness is moderate and enough to balance out the sweetness from the malt. Full and sticky mouthfeel.
Overall, a really decent winter warmer. I feel like the ginger might be overdone a little bit but I really like the chocolate and roast and it all seems to come together fairly well. Worth picking up if you come across it.

Pours a dark red-brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma is clove, honey, caramel, toffee, floral. Taste is herbal, some honey, some clove, perhaps some coriander (?), and a mild albeit general malt character. A little thin lacing. Syrupy mouth feel. Surprised to see that this was 8% alcohol.
My problem with this beer was that there were lots of aromas and flavors missing for me. I missed the ginger and spruce completely. The same with the orange. Overall not bad, but I was looking very forward to those elements. They just weren’t there.
