Draft. Aroma has notes of blackberry, chocolate and roasted malts. Very dark ruby amber hue that sits almost black with an average off-white head. Flavor is medium sweet and lightly bitter and a little sour. Palate is medium bodied with average carbonation. Wow, what an amazing beer. Wonderful chocolate and fruit flavors. Loved it. xnoxhatex (1305) - Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA - APR 22, 2009
Bottle from Siciliano;s under the Mt. Pleasant label. Cloudy dark brown with red tint and creamy, beige, medium head. NIce berry aroma with slight sourness, and medium malt sweetness. Flavor is sweeter berry with same tartness, only slight grain/tannin, livable though, slight mango. Medium and well carbonated. Real tasty, real solid, I can dig it. gilvanblight (825) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 10, 2014
Nice dark pour. Smells great. Tastes even better. This is realky good. Fruit beers are hit or miss and this is a hit. pauls_parade (340) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 23, 2010
Draft pour. Reddish-brown in color, opaque. Leaves a touch of lacing. Blackberries in the nose with some roasted malt aroma. Medium in body, smooth, with a short palate-cleaning finish. Sweet with blackberries and balanced with a touch of roasted/earthy bitterness. Unique. Enjoyable as a summer brew! superspak (6232) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - MAY 13, 2015
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 10/7/2014. Pours hazy deep reddish brown color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of blackberry, raisin, plum, caramel, toffee, toast, light cocoa, light herbal, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of blackberry and dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of blackberry, raisin, plum, caramel, toffee, toast, light cocoa, light herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roast bitterness and slight fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of blackberry, raisin, plum, caramel, toffee, toast, light cocoa, light herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of blackberry and dark/bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/tartness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice fruited wheat/stout beer. All around good robustness and balance of blackberry and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

(bottle - 12 oz) Dark amber pour with a thin tan head. Lots of blackberries in the aroma with a light hint of roasted malts and dry wheat. Good blackberry flavor at the start of the flavor with a bit of dry malts in the middle and a slightly tart blackberry finish. lumberjack (178) - Michigan, USA - MAR 24, 2009
Kind of misleading since there are no actual blackberries here as I was told at the brewpub...12 oz bottle...Dark ruby red with very little head. Aroma is raspberry jam. Flavor is tart raspberries up front, then some chocolate and roast malts at the finish. Lively carbonation. Really a nice combination of the stout and raspberry ale in that you can taste characteristics of both beers. Very tasty. nbutler11 (1305) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JUL 28, 2009
Sampled twice at the MBGF. Pours a dark shade of amber with a trim off white head. Smells of berries, for sure. Tastes thin, but full of blackberry flavor and almost like buttery popcorn. Very approachable.
