2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
4th August 2012
ChrisOs Marvellous Pre GBBF Mega Tasting. Hazy gold beer. Little white head. Light dry palate. Nice weedy start - quite vegetal. Then a huge chilli kick and the heat just keeps going. Too hot.
Tap. Pours crystal clear orange, small beige head, good lacing. Aroma is spicy chili, green jalapenos. Flavor is chili forward, perhaps medium heat; this one would hurt my wife. Jalapeño does taste fresh. Light plus body. Interesting. Fatehunter (2615) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - NOV 27, 2015
Pours a half finger of head on a hazy dark straw body.
The aroma is fresh jalapenos. That’s all.
The taste is moderate heat and grains.
The texture is crisp.
It’s all jalapenos but not too hot. rosenbergh (11809) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 1, 2015
Draught at the Weed Ale House, Weed, CA. Clear deep golden colour with a small white head. Fresh jalapeño and vegetable aroma. Nice! The flavour is much milder with malt and subdued jalapeño. Jalapeño warms nicely though.

22 oz bomber from Grocery outlet in Redding CA. pour’s a crystal clear brass color with a nice 2 finger white head that dissipates quickly. aroma is pepper forward but slight when cold. pepper aroma really pop’s after it warms up, very strong roasted/sweet Jalapeno aroma. taste is light pepper when cold but just like aroma really pops when warm. front of the mouth is sweet, roasted pepper’s. middle of the mouth is more of the same. finish has a nice bite of heat and roasted pepper bitterness that lingers. mouth feel is very lite, not much body. over all a really nice beer, my first ever jalapeno beer. could be a really awesome beer with a bit more body and a little more hop flavor going on. maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - DEC 13, 2014
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a moderate white head on there. Nose is heavy with peppers - doesn’t quite hit fresh jalapeno, but the pepper notes are very present in this. I’m a huge fan of spice, and I find that this beer has only a very mild kick to it. The base beer seems a bit bland, and I think it would be better with an IPA or pale ale as a base. But it’s a fun drink every now and again. Would be pretty good to cook with as well.

"44 on RB. Seems a bit harsh. They were really close, IMHO, to absolutely nailing this. For this pepper lover, the aroma was very enticing. Peppers galore, with some lagerish maltiness underneath. The flavor is very similar to that, but then the one issue pops up. No follow through. The finish is rather weak, and right when you expect the heat to hit the back of your throat...there isn’t any. Well, there’s a touch, but the lack of spice was the only real flaw. They had the flavor down, and the nose, but the mellow watery finish prevented this decent beer from being really good. I’d have again. I’m sure the heat varies." beastiefan2k (4112) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - JUN 2, 2014
I’m a sucker for pepper beers, so I had to buy this bomber at Beer Junction in West Seattle. It ain’t pretty, pours dirty, murky amber, no clarity. Not much head on it, as I said, not pretty. But the aroma is super peppery. Oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhh. A bit sweet and not very well attenuated, slick feeling, but who cares when you got lots and lots pf jalapeno. First its jalapeno and then its a lot of heat at the back of the throat. Hey, that is why one buys a beer like this. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - MAY 5, 2014
Wow . . . HOT!!! I’ve had a number of pepper-type beers, but this one is truly the hottest. For what it wants to be, it succeeds splendidly. But, at the same time, it is HOT. thome50 (1295) - Morro Bay via Orange County, California, USA - JAN 4, 2014
22oz bottle found in Morro Bay over the summer when I was obsessed with jalapeno/pepper beer. Shared with myself and the drain the Saturday after New Years. Pours a crystal clear light yellow with fairly nice, big, white head. Aroma is jalapeno forward but not overpowering and slight straw. Taste is light vegetabley jalapeno with some celery salt and corn adjunct going on. The heat is minor when cold but as the beer warms it gets more assertive in the back of the throat. I think I’m getting over my jalapeno beer obsession. I just need some more day tripper with jalapenos. mcberko (18981) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 27, 2013
On tap at The Weed Alehouse / Mt Shasta Brewing, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out nothing but jalapeños. Flavour is the same, but without much intensity - just enough to coat the tongue in jalapeño goodness. Nothing sophisticated, but decent enough.
