Mild sweet grain aroma. Pours light gold. Crystal clear with absolutley no head. Flavor is slightly sweet and grainy. Finishes clean and crisp. Average beer probably made for non micro drinkers or the Havasu heat. It serves a purpose

Can from AJ’s Fine Foods Scottsdale. Pours clear and yellow with no head. Not much on the nose. Doesn’t really taste like anything.. Why a craft brewer would want to fuck around with a pale lager is beyond fucking me.

My can said Up River Light, so it may different beer. Straw yellow color with a sticky beaten egg white head. Odd chemical and metallic nose. Sweet beer with some corn, canned peas, and penny flavors. This is really not very good at all. Maybe it is better ice cold floating down Lake Havasu.

A steady pour into my Bruery tulip produces a pale, white, two-finger thick, head. The beer is a bright gold color that shows a brilliantly clear, pale straw color when held up to the light. The aroma smells faintly fruity, sweet with a grain / corn sweetness, with a touch of floral / herbal hops, and, the more you dig, a more noticeable green apple like note and almost melon like character.

Light bodied, with a fizzy carbonation and a finish that disappears except for a slight carbonic bite, a touch of weird grain / fruit character and a thin beery note. Thin, sweet grain flavors aren’t quite corn like. There is a touch of hop bitterness here, maybe a suggestion of herbal character, certainly more than in your typical Macro-light-lager, but not much to speak of.

Exactly what it is trying to be. Clean enough, without any real flaws, this beer should appeal well to the Light beer looking crowd. For me personally it doesn’t do much, except quench the thirst when quite cold on a hot day, but I can think of a fair amount of styles that I would rather have in that situation. Stylistically good for being a bit more flavorful than the standard light beer offering, but hedonistically just a bit too boring.

State week month, week 1 Oct 2nd - 8th. State: Arizona.

One of the plethora of Arizona beers dcschiller sent me out of the goodness of his heart! Cheers Dave! I guess they’re calling this Up River Light now per my can.

This beer looks pretty great in the glass. It’s a very pale golden color with a very large rocky white head.

The aroma is a lot of wet malt & I’m getting just a hint of lactic aroma... you know kind of yogurt-y, it’s not a problem... it’s just unexpected. Fleeting whiffs of herbal hoppiness are detectable at random intervals.

The flavor is pretty refreshing, the herbal hops are a welcome departure from the style, as is the sourness. The beer is lightly sour in a tart, earthy, lightly punchy, and yogurt like way. This balances well with the bright malt character. If this is a beer brewed with rice or corn then bravo to the brewer because this certainly seems like a malt only beer. There is a tad bit of alcohol hotness just before the finish.

You could convince me that this was a lightly soured Berliner Weiss in a blindfolded tasting. Perhaps I got an infected can, but if that’s the case it’s a pretty good mistake.

Pours a very pale watery champagne color with a thin whispy white head. Sulfuric skunk aroma has a touch of pale malt and hops. Very watery, yet still bitter. Drinkable if you don’t like flavorful beer

12 oz. can from Total Wine - pours a slightly hazy light golden color with a one and a half finger thick white head. faint lacing. Aroma is herbal hops and citrus. flavor is lightly sweetened malt and citrus. Citrus lingers in the finish. Light to medium body. This beer is very citrusy for a lager. It’s not to shabby.
