COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mühlen Kölsch has been brewed and filled by hand in the traditional way since 1858, in the original building of the Brewery zur Malzmühle at the Hay Market. Only natural, raw ingredients of the highest quality are used: barley malt and a small portion of wheat malt, high-quality aroma hops, spring water and yeast. The combination of ingredients and production using an old family recipe dating back to 1858 imparts the typical, characteristically robust, malty, full-flavored taste to our Mühlen Kölsch.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2011 My Bottom Line :
Delicately honeyed pils malts dominate this quaffable Kölsch, as whispering citrusy accents peer through once in a while.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A healthy head of foam caps the clear golden.
-The finish is very quiet; perhaps not this beer’s best feature.
-This finish, coupled with the slick mouthfeel, makes for extremely high drinkability, especially when yet another freshly-served, cool glass is set upon your table.
-The effervescent natural carbonation is perfect for the moderate level of residual sugars.
-Hops are practically absent in this brew, appearing in herbal and citrusy form only if you want to look for them

IMHO The best of all Koelschs (and I've tried almost all of them). Rich and full taste. It looks a bit stale, but with every sip you taste that it is brewed the old-fashioned way. One of the few Koelschs that is brewed with real hops instead of extract. Above that, the Malzmuehle brewery has its own well, which is quite rare, too.

Great Kolsch ! Sweet body, light but true to style, pleasant hops and flower taste.
