Zuster Agatha is a dark beer with 10% ABV. Brewed according to the Trappist traditions and only natural ingredients. Althoug these types of beer a normally named after male chatholics the brewer still decided to name it after Sister Agatha. Its a beer to enjoy in peace and quite. It has a complex aroma with fruit, raisins and roasted malts. Its full and solid with a surprisingly dry finish. It invites you to take another sip. Please be careful with this high alcoholic beer as the strenght might attack you by surprise. Brewed for and with the recipe of de Muifel Brouwerij (

330ml bottle, from trade - sorry, cant remember who! Pours a hazy brown, large pale tan head. Aroma has good dark fruits, sweet yeast, spice. Taste is well-balanced with a blossoming, layered sweet quadrupel character, rounded with a good woody alcohol warmth and sweet bourbon hints. Hugely enjoyable quad.

Typische quad uiterlijk. In het aroma herken je voornamelijk alcohol met wat zoets. Smaak is alcohol, donker fruit en een zoetje. Alcohol is niet goed verborgen.

Bottle 33cl. served in a chalice. Clear deep ruby brown, small frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing; vinous nose, aroma sweet malts, ripe dark fruits, brown sugar, caramel, treacle, alcohol; taste light heavy to heavy sweet and slightlty bitter, roasted malts, fruity, caramel, alcohol; malty sweetbitter aftertaste, burnt caramel, spicy notes and light warming alcohol, astringent roasty bitterness in the short finish; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; more than decent quadruple, pleasant and not boozy.

Bottle @ bar in Breda. Dark brown, beige foam. Nose of plums, dried fruit, caramel, roasted malts. Rather thin body and a bit watery. Ok but i expected more.

[email protected] Sophisticated, though averagely balanced taste with bourbon, raisin, dark caramel. Light/medium palate with medium/light carbonation. Overall, much of simple taste.

Dark reddish-brown pour with a lasting off-white head. Sweet aroma with strong banana, some caramel, chocolate. Taste full and sweet, also chocolate and banana; some roasty bitterness only slightly in the aftertaste. This is a pleaser! Not quite complex or difficult, but very nice beer that makes curious to the version with wood.

slightly opalescent dark amber to brown colour with some reddish notes, one inch creamy beige-ish head; aroma and taste of dried fruits, raisins, some grape, burnt candy sugar, biscuit, some apple and minimal dark chocolate notes; this is what one can expect from a quadrupel - not really sophisticated, but very enjoyable

Deep ruby pour, small off-white head. Aroma of prune, raisins, dates, and candied fruit. Flavor follows, quite sweet. Bark is better than bite, but nice.
