Cask, The Blue Boar, Leicester. Golden with a bubbly off white head. Grainy with bittersweet lemon and pithy citrus rind. Grassy and herbal. Mellow mixed tropical fruit. Dry palate. Hints of pine. Solid. jjsint (3089) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - MAY 14, 2016
UPDATED: APR 12, 2017 Handpull cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Light gold with a nice little white head. The natural carbonation is strong with this one. Light aroma of grapefruit and grainy malts... ho hum. The initial taste is incredible: sweet with bittering hops battering the edges. Unfortunately the end of the sip is quite bland and somewhat astringent, so taste balances out to a respectable but by no means world-beating 7. Medium to long bitter finish. There’s a moment when this beer is damn near perfect. I just wish that moment was longer. fonefan (49293) - VestJylland, DENMARK - APR 28, 2016

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol July 2015. Amber in colour with a decent, off-white, head. Big, bittering hops, a touch of citrus fruitness and some crisp, cereal malts. Ok.

Cask at The Holy Inadequate, Etruria. A clear pale amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, some mango and a weird nutty smell. Taste of dry grapefruit, orange, subtle copper penny taste, nuts and slight caramel. Medium bodied and an oily texture. A dry, citrus hop bitterness in the finish. Not a great IPA, but I can taste dry, bitter hop flavours which pleases me. Brigadier (3680) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - AUG 2, 2013

This was the biggest disappointment of the Muirhouse beers though not the worst at the festival. Maybe it was because I was expecting an IPA and not an ESB but this did not appeal to my palate.
Aroma / Appearance - The flat rose gold body retained no head at all due to the cask. Polished gold coins, almonds, and honey were mostly sweet with no bitterness evident. I looked for a hop profile but it must have been left at the brewery.
Flavor / Palate - Honey, almonds, and golden crisps are enjoyable enough but I kept waiting for evidence of hops. The creamy mouthfeel eventually turned slightly bitter but not as much as I was expecting. If this were listed in the program as an ESB I would have given it more slack but to market it as an IPA is a trick. There’s no reason to order one unless you like mediocre half-hearted taps.
