On gravity - deep black with a thin off white head. aroma of peat, strong smokiness, light liquorice and chocolate. Taste is smokey with chocolate and caramel with cream and a hint of roasted malt. Light to medium bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation, sweet oily mouthfeel. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2013
Cask conditioned handpump Criterion Leicester 07/03/13. As black as night with a little beige head. Very mild. A bit of roast. No noticeable smoke. Pretty plain really and doesn’t suit its name. It went down. SarkyNorthener (4620) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - NOV 22, 2012

, Wolverhampton. Black with flashes of red in a certain light, medium head. Aroma reminds me of an Islay single malt Whisky; smoked peat. The taste resonates with peat smoke though it is not overpowering. Also has the coffee and chocolate tones you would expect in a porter. Almost full bodied on the palate with a spicy aftertaste in the finish. This is a world class beer, a great balance between a porter and a smoked beer. Give me more!
